back in the day, low brass was used for light loads. I buy once fired trap hulls and load heavy, up to 1 1/2 oz loads. The only 3" hulls that I have been able to find are Fiocchi and Cheddite. They take different wads with a larger gas seal. Hulls from different makes has got so different that you have to readjust your press if you change brands. 410 is almost impossible. I buy loaded shells as cheep as I can find hulls. After shooting them, I save the hulls. I get 8-10 loads out of the old style 12 ga. Rem sts and Win AA. The newer AA has too high a base wad. I still have a stash of the Fed Gold medals but they take the larger wadcup. If you load straight wall hulls (euro and the old Fed,) with tapered wall wads they will be too loose and you will get powder migration.
