300 blackout - 05/14/18 01:49 PM

Who is reloading 300 blackout? I had a guy at one of the gun shops tell me that 300 blackout was a big pain in the a@# to reload. He said the case are a pain to resize after firing and that most folks that reload it are reloading with new brass and not once fired brass. Any truth to the above statement.

No . I've been doing it with a friend and making brass out of 5.56. No issues for us after the initial learning curve. We are on the third loading of this batch.

I am going to say no, that's not true. I don't reload it, but I can't fathom how that is true. Guy's probably not lubing the cases prior to sizing, or he has a chamber way out of spec.

Very easy re-sizing. The only issue I've had is an occasional Hornady 300 Whisper case being short in the shoulder (too much headspace) causing light strikes on the primer in the R700. run it through the AR and its good to go on the next loading.

I'm gonna say old guy at gunshop wants to sell you new brass because of this "problem". I haven't seen it all but I've seen some. Long as dies and chambers are in spec SAMMI or CIP wise should't be a problem.

I've made about 1000 pcs of it from 556 brass and have a good bit of factory brass and haven't had any issues with any of them
