300 wsm reccomendation

Anyone with experience with loading this caliber. Which powders, weight bullet have proven successful?

Game will be elk, mule deer

180s Imr 4350 on fast side RL 22 on slow Fed 215 primers.

This is what I have loaded for mine. Haven't had a good chance to try it on game or shoot over a chronograph


150 grain Barnes TTSX, coal 2.830, CCI 250 primers. 61 grains RL-15.

180gr Accubonds in front of a heavy dose of IMR4350, Fed 215M primers

I had good luck with Varget and 150s. H4831SC seemed pretty good with 165s and up.

Ramshot Hunter would be the only one I would add to the above suggestions. That can produce some good loads in 300 WSM.

I like IMR4831 and IMR4350 with 165 or 180's.

I would also get a box of factory 165 Superformance and shoot that and see what happens.

H4831SC gave me great accuracy in my 22" barreled 7 SAUM with 160 grain Accubonds, but the velocity was VERY slow. I hope you don't run into that with yours. RL26 has proven to be the ticket for my SAUM and 270 Win. You may want to give it a try.

Works well all the way out to the 230s as well
