Im looking at running imr 4350 in my 30 06 165gr hornady sst/sp and my 7mm mag 162gr sst...is this a good powder for both rifles with 22inch barrels...if so does anybody know where i could find some around Birmingham? Thanks

For your 06 it's very good, not to be DaveKnowItAll but i'd suggest a slower burner for your 7 Rl 22,4831etc.Simmons is where i'd look locally.

I like IMR4350, but it doesn't touch Reloder 26.

I've used 4350 in a 30/06 and 7mmRM for years.

I use IMR 4350 for my 06. Excellent powder. I use it with Hornady 168 HPBT's and I've had great success with it.

Hogdon owns the imr brand notice all those new enduron powders they just introduced? You wouldn't think they would cut 4350 production so folks have to try the new stuff? Give it 12 months and good old 4350 will return

I have several lbs of 4350, as well as 4831, 4064 & H414. They all work well with my 30:06.

Re: Imr 4350 - 05/23/17 08:16 PM

IMR 4350 is a good powder in many of the most popular calibers. It used to be considered a slow powder but the development of very slow powders over the last 15 - 20 years has spurned the development of the "Ultra" magnums, and relegated 4350 to a medium slow burn rate. 4350 will still work very well in any of the standards (243, 270, 30-06 7mm RM, 300 WM) but there are powders available these days which may give you more velocity.

That being said, if I was only allowed to have one powder on my shelf, it would be H4350.

RL19 is almost identical to IMR4350 performance in my 280 but may also be hard to find.

I've heard if you have a 30-06 that won't shoot a 165 with IMR4350, keep the load and get rid of the rifle.
