North AL - Fur Sellers - 02/01/23 05:46 PM
Anyone in north AL or southern TN that skins, dries and sells their furs?
I’d be interested in chatting on the phone or pm.
With current prices it seems that coon, opossum, and skunk trapping is more just for turkey nest population

I'm from west central AL but I trapped and put up fur for years, I used North American Fur Auctions (NAFA) until they went bankrupt. Fur Harvesters has an auction, you can ship to them or look up their website to see their pickup routes. They did run routes in Kentucky and Tennessee. Groenewold Fur also receives shipped fur as well as running fur buying routes in Tennessee. You can also check with your state trappers association to see if they hold any fur auctions. Don't expect much. The fur market is WAY down and with gas prices like they are you can't make ends meet. Like Josie Wales said"The buzzards got to eat just like the worms". LOL If I can help holler at me.

Dickie Campbell in Gurly use to buy fur. The last time I sold him some Genseng fox was about all he was buying.

Predator control is the only benefit to trapping in the south
China and Russia have the fur market sowed up now
