I actually found her owners. She's been missing for over 3 weeks. She was skinny so I fed her all my dp bait (cat food) and some fresh water then checked traps with her.

Rain shuts me down - like long dry stretches when trap

Deadeye had good idea I ain’t tried yet - collect bucket full of dry dirt to use when it’s wet - I May hit the traps again in sept - enjoying seeing your pics

I’m just learning myself, lots of good info on here and I’ve watched several videos plus a friend of mine has been getting lots of questions. Get some traps and give it a shot

I’ve been getting lots of pictures of coyotes and my buddy just sent me a picture from our place with two coyotes and a yearling on the ground by them.. I have to start trapping on our place. It’s getting out of hand with the coyotes..

TDog, I thought I read somewhere in this forum about a starter trap set that came ready to deploy without waxing. Can you give me the info? Thanks

K9 Extremes are already coated and you do not have to dye and wax. I would still recommend a good cleaning but that is pretty easy with a pressure washer or hose.

Re: # 1 - 11/09/22 12:47 AM

U may be able to google a kit that comes ready - only thing I hav done in past was wax and dye traps

But - I started buying k-9 extreme jr traps that come ready out of box like Wade says. All I do is keep my bare hands off them and go set - they catch for me

May not be a bad idea to wash first though like Wade says - I hav not been

I stopped buying the trap u got to do all the stuff to - k9 just simpler

The only starter kit I bought on line I had to dye traps etc - good luck

Re: # 1 - 11/10/22 02:40 AM

Just set out 5 dog traps - one was really a bobcat set - my first of year on that type set - trying to lead it to trap - can lead cats but not dogs supposedly - we will see

Hope to put out 3 more tomorrow and maybe hit them hard 10-12 days - if it rains that May shut me down some

Cool weather ought to hav em moving

Re: # 1 - 11/10/22 02:37 PM

Traps not touched - had one doe track within an inch of one trap frame and that’s it

Had coyotes show up in road about 150 yards from my big field - May set trap within 50 yards of that camera where 3 roads meet - that’s where he came from - seen several times now - trap will be 200 yards from big field - usually don’t get that close when it this close to season
