Need squirrel eliminating help

Got a hole in the top of my brick columns on my front porch. The squirrel nests inside it. But the problem is it eats the wood on my porch, maybe for its nest. I thought I shot them all last year (3) but evidently not. After I fixed the house they are back and chewing again. I live in a subdivision so dynamite, fire, etc is ruled out. Any thing for poison? They definitely don’t like Clorox cause I dumped some down the hole and they squeal but surprisingly I haven’t seen any white squirrels. I believe the column is made of cinder blocks and covered in brick and the hole is the cinder block itself. I’ve of course tried covering the hole. They eat any covering that I can get up there to attach. Here is a pic.

soak the round kind or some kind of rat poison in peanut oil or peanut butter. But you want it gone not dead in the post the smell may last a while.

I will embrace and enjoy the smell of dead squirrel. I’ve already tried the rat poison that looks like a corn on the cob they wouldn’t eat it

How about a rat trap?
Just make sure to run a screw through it in to the wood on the porch.

I am battling the same problem but it turned out to be big rats instead of squirrels. “the kind of rats you see while cutting hay or bush hogging “ They ate a hole in each side of our porch and got into the attic. I put out the yellow poison you have to break apart in the attic and Killed a bunch of them and they are the worst smelling thing you could imagine. I been having to make a daily trip through the attic to try and find dead rats. .
We didn’t even know that they had moved in until about a week ago we heard one and I found the holes and put the poison out.

One way squirrel door and cover hole with wire mesh or flashing when they get out.

So they go in and can’t get out? I like it. They can’t chew through the concrete block. So if they get in they are done. I think I will slip some poison (mentioned above) in too so they will have a snack

A live trap baited with peanut butter, then drop the trap in a 5. bucket of water, this has worked for me.

I'd stuff the top of the post with newspaper/cardboard down about 2 feet. Then I'd spray expansing foam on top of that and let it set up about a foot below the top of the post. The last foot would be Quick Set concrete and they'd never get in/out again.

Place a #50 or #110 Single Spring Conibear Trap on the column at the hole.

I would put a Have A Heart trap up there screw it in or secure it some how with opening of cage right against his hole.

Get a cat

Stick a hose in the hole and fill it up with water. They'll either drown or get out then you can seal the hole lol

I have a rat problem in the garage of an old , now unoccupied farmhouse.
Smarter than the avg. mouse. Very shy of traps.
I did whack a couple with my SW442 and rat shot the other night but they
wised up fast.

For squirrels?? have any electric fence stuff? That would be fun to watch.

Do I need to bring the squirrel dogs up there and turn them loose on them? Lol

n a small American town, a band of squirrels had become
quite a problem

The Presbyterians called a meeting to decide what to
do about their squirrel infestation. After much prayer and
consideration, they concluded that the squirrels were
predestined to be there, and they shouldn't interfere with
God's divine will.

At the Baptist church the squirrels had taken an interest in
the baptistery. The deacons met and decided to put a
water-slide on the baptistery and let the squirrels drown
themselves. The squirrels liked the slide and unfortunately,
knew instinctively how to swim, so twice as many squirrels
showed up the following week.

The Lutheran church decided that they were not in a position
to harm any of God's creatures. So, they humanely trapped
their squirrels and set them free near the Baptist church.
Two weeks later the squirrels were back when the Baptists
took down the water-slide.

The Methodist church tried a much more unique path by
setting out pans of whiskey around their church in an effort
to kill the squirrels with alcohol poisoning. They sadly
learned how much damage a band of drunk squirrels can
do.

But the Catholics came up with a more very creative
strategy! They baptized all the squirrels and made them
members of the church. Now they only see them at
Christmas and Easter.

And not much was heard from the Jewish synagogue. They
took the first squirrel and circumcised him. They haven't
seen a squirrel since.

Koro rodent trap. $13 from Wildlife Control Supplies. Stick a peanut on the trigger and watch em flop.

Then pour quickcrete in the hole so the problem doesn't keep popping up.

Sand is cheap. You could fill the column with sand and cap it with a little Sackrete.

Definitely the cheapest way as long as he isn't worried about the squirrels causing other problems after he closes up their home.

No they go out the existing hole this thing is in existing hole with narrow end pointed out of hole once they get out they cant get back in

Moth balls in a wire/screen container. The container is so you can remove those stinking things after the squirrels leave.

Try Just One Bite rat poison

Fill a 5 gallon bucket half full of water and cover the water surface with sun flower seeds. Build a ramp up to the bucket. They will fall in and problem is solved.

Hardware cloth

Some will say rat poison wont kill them but i disagree. Take some Dcon or whatever kinda rat poison. I bought the small block type. Put a few in a zip lock bag or similar and pound them with a hammer into very small pieces. Then get a cheap jar of peanut butter. I used the chunky type. Take the pounded up pieces and with latex gloves on get some pb and kneed them together. I made marble sized pieces. I left them in the sun for a couple of days to dry out and get hard. I then put them in the opening they were going thru. Withen 2 weeks I had no more squirrels and sealed the opening.

Do it the easy way, get some fox or coyote scent and put some towards the entry point where they travel the most. You won't smell it unless you douche it on. Once they get wind of the predator smell they won't be back!
