I caught 3 in one day a few years ago in DPs. It was terrible, so I feel for you.

I caught one and it honestly wasn't THAT bad.
Actually had a beautiful hide, so I took it to my taxidermist and got a full mount.
Best I remember I just shot it in the head with a 22 short hollow point.

I shot this one in the head with my 17. I got within 30 yds and you couldn’t bear it it was so bad. Buzzards already got it ripped in half this am so maybe by mid week I can reset that trap

Good gosh, they ate a skunk?

Right after college, we lived on a ranch in Elliot, MS. The place crawled with skunks. We shot up to 15 a night. One night, one got in the garbage in the carport. I let him stroll about 30 yards out, then shot him in the back of the head with a .22LR. He jumped straight up, turned 180 and ran back in the carport and died. A skunk that close smells different than roadkill. Its much more of an acidic smell. We tried to go to bed and ignore it. About midnight, I got a foot in the small of the back and was told to do something. I flipped it up on the tailgate with a hoe and hauled it off. I told an older neighbor about it a few days later. He said "You used a .22, didn't you? You need to use 12 ga. and buckshot if you want them to die right there."

Probably was a treat. Those mofos will eat anything. Kinda like Stevo running around the casinos.

I was using brownies. I thought I had marshmallows in the shop fridge but didn’t. Had some stuff my wife made for my office workers in the truck.

First time I read this I saw where you “shot him in n the head at 40’yards with my 17.”
I thought, “Dayum, that’s some pretty fancy shooting for a Glock 17.”
It occurred to me tonight that was prolly a 17 rifle. I forget about them lil fellers.
