Hole Set Questions - 02/27/17 01:05 PM
Have y’all experimented with where you bed your trap in relation to the hole? In other words, the distance away from the hole as well as offset to the side or centered. The videos I’m watching seem to center the trap with hole about 1 ft away. Is this the most effective spot to bed the trap?

i don't know about the most effective as there are several more here waaaay more experienced than me but I have been setting mine nine inches back and about and inch or two offset! I have had good luch so far with this! I have seen others on videos setting closer to hole but would like to hear what others here do?

9" back, 2" offset! That's pretty much standard for coyote trapping.

Is the 2" offset the pan or the trap jaw?

I’m taking that to mean that the center of the pan is 2” off set from the center of the hole.

Nine inches back from hole entrance and two inches left or right to the center of the pan.
