Blue Silos Duck/Goose Club - 04/30/23 03:19 PM

Located in McDougal, Ark. on the Missouri Border. Seems they were a guide service primarily....but looking for Members this next year. Anybody ever had any experiences with them? Thanks.

I know the mcdougal area. It’s historically a good area. Lots of geese. Good flyway

If it’s who I think it is they have always had members but they got second or third choice on hunting spots depending on his pay hunters.

Be careful with any scenario in which you don't have exclusive rights to hunt a specific piece of property on your terms.

I have seen a LOT of people get burned over the years paying for some kinda "group" hunting situation where in the end all they really appeared to do was pay for all the leased land for some local "guide" to take people on pay hunts.

Then when you showed up on any given day... you got to hunt where they weren't. Which means they hunted where the ducks were. And you got one of the other holes. I saw guys go all season and never get on a really good hunt.

In MS you'd see them stick their "members" on a catfish pond complex while the "guides" took some pay hunters to the timber hole full of ducks.

Unfortunately.....I think this is the angle this outfit runs.

The general rule of thumb with duck holes/deer leases/turkey leases is that there is a reason they are available. With the high demand of these commodities it usually means the spot doesn't produce. Could be any other reason but I would double check the numbers from last year and understand the rotation system. BTW certain holes in the McDougal area had a really good year. Others not so much.
