Anybody duck hunt with a 20. I hunted with mine this morning and was pleasantly surprised.

Yep. That's about all I use to hunt wood ducks in AL. Winchester SX3 20 gauge and some 3 inch Kent Faststeel will get the job done at 30 yards or less. The only weakness in my setup is the shooter. All about picking your shots.

I’ve never heard of anyone using a 20. Some guys I hunt with use 3.5” 12 gauge for ducks. No thanks.

Back when I duck hunted all I carried was a 20. Killed em graveyard dead in decoys. No need for more gun. Thank god I quit duck hunting

In timber, I prefer a 20 over a 12

Well 2 mornings in a row killed some greenheads with the 20. Don’t know that I’ll be going back to a 12

All I hunt with now. But, I do have a 3 acre swamp and the 20 is plenty. Going to a .410 a bit next season.

There was a 20 in the blind when we shot sandhills this year. He didn’t have a problem killing them at all.

Back when I duck hunted. I personally did not hunt with a 20, but hunted with a guy that did. He had no trouble putting them down.

I duck hunt once a year and that's in Arkansas for 3 days. I have plenty of 12's but always reach for the 20. I shoot #3 and the other guys shoot a 12 and #4. No argument that the 12's send more lead down range, but I've not noticed that they shoot any better than I do in the blind. Both of the other guys are about equal to me in the dove field, again with them shooting a 12 while I tore the 20

I didn’t pick up the 12 this year. I killed mallards, pintails, lesser Canada geese, big Canada’s, and Sandhill crane with mine. Had no issue at all.

I quit hunting ducks with the 12 gauge years ago. Birds are either in range or they're not. I like 3" number 4's.

I use a 20 gauge a lot. Good shells and a good choke and you can lay em out. I have also tried a 410 but it’s a little tougher. Gotta find the right gun and shell combo for it.

This.
I once killed 2 geese with one shot with a 20.
Granted, I was walking in to set up on a point and they were roosted there. One stretches his wings and I cut down. I was shocked when I went to pick him up and there were 2 of them. I shot 3” 6’s in the lead days. Went to 3” 2’s, 3’s and 4’s when steel came along.
I might duck hunt again at some point. But it won’t be hard core like it used to be. Guys I talked to thus year said there just weren’t a lot of ducks around Gville.
