Nope. We have 2-3 spots that are money if any are around. We shall see Saturday. Some friends have been out looking and have seen a few, but not anything g to get real excited about.

Not a damn thing here, like usual. There will be once teal season goes out, as usual.

I haven't seen very many down here. Usually by this time there are birds everywhere. Looks like this season may end up like the last 3-4 seasons. Hardly any birds in the area.

Been putting in lots of leg work this week with little to show. Burned probably 10 gallons of gas. Water levels in the delta are very high. Saw some on a mud flat a couple weeks ago and saw a decent group earlier in the week. Saw a group flying this morning from probably a quarter mile away. Seen a few fresh brushed blinds this morning with absolutely no ducks nearby with the exception of a few wood ducks.

I need a bluewing and a canvasback to complete my collection. I've never even seen a bluewing.

Blue wings are usually the first migrators and pass through early. You should check out a south Florida teal hunt, just leave the dog at home due to gators.

Or just shoot a blue wing in march on their way back up. Full plumage then!

The Federal stamp....the mallards on the stamp are slightly raised....almost like they are embossed. Pretty neat looking.

I've been tempted several times, there's a pond down the road from my house that they pile up in during the spring, had 25-30 last year that stayed for a few weeks in it,I'd stop by the road and look at them with my binoculars on the way home, man were they pretty,I've seen a few this past week in a couple of places but they've already gone

Usually don't hunt the early season, mainly for lack of birds. But, a couple years ago I went to bushog around my duck hole and was supprised to find it covered with bluewings. I finished the work and it came to me season opened the next day. I put it to good use. wink

Just an FYI, you could be ticketed for that stamp. It has to be signed across the face of the stamp.

I know, I just liked this year’s stamp since I collect them and didn’t want to mess it up. Hopefully I don’t run into a fed gw with something stuck too far up his rear end (I doubt a state gw would write me a ticket where I hunt for not signing it across the actual stamp.) At least that’s what I’m banking on thumbup

I was lucky to not get a Federal ticket in AR for signing across the white portion of the actual stamp. It was laminated to my AL license and luckily back int the timber, a guy called to some ducks after noon on Fed refuge is why he let me go. Plus he knew the guide whom we're were friends with. I've been checked by Feds in AL but is was been some time ago. I always buy an extra one to hang onto as a keepsake. I know it seems strange but the Fed GW was saying that even though it was laminated to my license, I could cut it off my license and someone else could then sign across the face and not have to buy one.

I have seen a fed game warden write that ticket. The recipient didn't know better. Your stamp could turn into a very expensive piece of art.
