invasive species program West Alabama - 02/25/20 07:42 PM

The University of West Alabama in Livingston, has started up an invasive species program dealing with hogs and cogon grass. They are currently working with remote traps on landowners properties in the West Alabama area. Also they are working with spraying control for the cogon grass, while it may not eliminate these problems it certainly wont hurt to try. I encourage if you are a landowner in this area to contact the Mathematics and Bilogical Sciences Program at UWA to see if you qualify, the way I understand it they will set up something similar to the CRP program to help landowners offset the cost of buying a remote trap as well.

Thanks for the info; I filled out the survey. Do you know what counties qualify?

I'm not 100% sure but I'm guessing those that border Sumter county. I would guess Choctaw, Marengo, and maybe Pickens .
