Obviously you can get them processed but between 4 people yesterday we shot 3. We are getting them processed but after this I will only want one more processed. But we still need to ikill all the hogs we see.
Where did you find a place to process them?
There’s a big debate about the legality of it. My favorite processor won’t do them because he said a USDA lady in Montgomery told him he couldn’t.
As best I can tell, though, he could use the custom processing exemption from the meat inspection act as long as the processed meat was labeled “not for sale” and was only for my personal, non-commercial use in my house with my family.
It is entirely possible he doesn’t want to do pigs and just uses USDA as an excuse. Although, I trust him that he was told he couldn’t do it.
