What kills me is the number of people who actually wish they had hogs.
I mean really?!
I don't know of anyone, who has hogs, that ever wished they could have more!

People call me all the time wanting tips because they suddenly got pigs on their place. I always give them some tips. And I end with, call me in 3 years when they start hating them!

3yrs? It didn't take me that long. I killed the 1st hog on the farm in Feb 2017. As of last week I'm up to 47 dead that I put my hands on. I have no clue how many I shot that ran off or that I just missed that I never saw again. At first I thought it was cool to have them and would have some to hunt year round. Well I'm gonna tell you having hogs SUCK!!! If they don't eat it, they tear it up. If they don't tear it up they chit all over it. All our rds on our canals and drain ditches are tore up. Can't hardly travel them with a pick up anymore. They know down our rice field levees and mash the chit out of the rice just before its ready to harvest. The fun factor wore off a long time ago and is almost a full time job now. As soon as I get all this rice planted we are gonna get real serious trapping and hunting them. They may win but I'm gonna give one hell of a fight.

I read where people have hogs and even want to get rid of them but just ask to let me hunt them and you would think you had ask to sleep with their wife 😡

Very true. I never understood it myself. Apparently they're not THAT much of a nuisance.
I would love some good private ground to hunt hogs but landowners act like they have
Bull Elk on their property.

Its because they dont want someone runnining around during the normally quiet times on their property shooting a few hogs when its not gonna help resolve their hog problem. There is no up side for them in the transaction imo

Yes but they can go shoot 2 hogs as easy as you can with no effort or liability but either way it aint helping their hog problem if you shoot a couple it is just educating em.

The hogs on the farm are a huge nuisance and if it was up to me, everyone could come and try to kill them. The farm is owned by a large land company and they don't want anyone not associated with the farm on the property. With this sue happy world we live in, I can't say that I blame them. I know I wouldn't want a bunch of people I don't know running around all over my property.

It's not that simple of an issue...

All I'm saying is that they don't want you on their land more than they want the hogs gone.

Correct hogs are not as bad as a piddler especially since the piddler can cause a whole lot of problems that can cost the land owner everything they have.

I guess what they are waiting for is for the hog population to get so big they will starve to death.
