FEED COST UPDATE FEB. 11 - AUG. 25 - 08/25/21 02:37 PM

I had promised this information in a previous thread. Maybe some of you have your spring/summer tallies and can share also.
Feeding protein from February 11th through about the third week in September, (guesstimate on final pellet gone), our total is just over $4,300 for 575 acres on six free-choice feeders. Fed roasted soybeans till about mid-May then started swapping to 18% pellets. I figured it would total out to about $1,500 more than it did, so I'm well pleased there. Never did we allow a feeder to run dry, so these should be accurate year to year for us. Our densities are slightly above average for the state, but not "Bullock county high". Maybe this helps someone in planning for supplemental feeding planning. Thanks, gentlemen.

I’m probably in the $500 range on one feeder missed several weeks due to no feed available. Way lower deer density than you on 40 acres.

I kept my Camden spot fed from early April to now - not missing a lot - prob 125-150 pounds/week - 80 acre- feed one spot - lot of deer to me - see 7 to 15 a sit in season. Feed some straight soy bean - feed more 20% protein -$13.5/bag and finish last several weeks w soybean and corn. Deer hungry. Old 7 point still there - got few times in camera then he stop - don’t like camera. He gone down a lot from last year it look like

Clarke county I miss feed some but not much - about same time frame - but I mainly kept 1 feeder full - it is my buck hang out spot - they did not like the pellet- soybean straight was so so. Finished w soybean and corn and they liked - got some decent pics - 1 ten and also a double main beam and think I got old 7 pt from last year - good deer - need another pic r 2 to confirm him but he and the 10 May b a mounter. Prob feed 150 pounds a week. Not high deer density but a good deer area
