Strange things happening in feed trough - 10/17/20 12:44 AM

As the title says.
My son had decided to take off work and deer hunt this morning. As some of you might remember we are feeding 3200 pounds of protein and roasted soybeans in modified cattle troughs. He was walking by a field at the crack of dawn and heard a lot of bumps and thumps coming from one of the troughs. He starts to slip up on it and 4 skinny coyotes bail out of trough. One starts walking toward him growling and yelping. He drew his bow back and took care of that problem!

Has any one seen or heard of coyotes eating out of feeders? Is a new one for me.

Yep had a picture of one laying in a feeder eating. It was made of half a plastic 55 gal drum.

Coyotes are scavengers, just like pigs, they'll eat almost anything.
It's probably the smell of the protein pellets that attracts them.

Good shot with the bow though. Tough to kill a yote on the move.

This was on our property around 10 years ago. In the last pic you can barely see the coyote's ears

That’s pretty funny! The only thing better would be an ACME sign next to the trough.
