Cold weather is coming now. Stick with elbon rye or wheat and crimson clover you'll be fine. Leave brassicas out at this point.

I closed on my property in Jan a few years ago and my daughter and I went straight there and hand seeded a little half acre plot with cereal rye. It germinated like a champ. That was the year we had such a bad drought but the rains were finally back by then.

No, don't leave brassicas out. I have some he can come dig up and transplant to his field. PLEASE, get every bit of it!!
