Birmingham is the lower end of north central Alabama.

Central Alabama is between Clanton (N end), Greenville (S end) and Uniontown (W end) and Tallassee (eastern border). If you are outside these borders you are in North, South, East, or West Alabama. That's all there is to it.

okay but it's still central Alabama and everything North of Cullman is actually North Alabama and also MTeague North Alabama and the TN valley are not the same

There is an old marker in the Reynolds Cemetery just off Reynolds Cemetery Road just east of Montevallo on Alabama 25 noting it to be the geographical center of Alabama. (Let me practice restraint and not poke fun at the irony of the one-time "dead" center of the state being in a cemetery).

Fox 6 viewing area is North Central to south central and east central to west central. That's what I go by
