My club president is wanting half our dues for the upcoming season and I don't want to rejoin without them setteling on the changes in the rules for the new season. They can't come to a final decesion on anything and I know I wont be joining if things stayed as they were. I do know there will be changes but just don't know what they will be and if I will be satisified with them.

So please, if you know of a good club and I mean a good club for $1500 with a good hunter to land ratio like 150 acres/member with quality bucks, allow a few does to be killed, allow my son to hunt (with me at club, not without), allow turkey hunting and not more than an hour or so drive from Shelby County I would greatly appreciate it.

I am not a killer. I shoot mature bucks and maybe a doe with my bow. My son is the same way but may take two does. I have always came to every work day and usually done more than my share. I will be glad to provide references if needed. I also hunt Oak Mountain so some of my time is spent there and not the club so that will cut down on any pressure I may add.

Basscat, Here is my post on my lease:I am looking for 1 member/family to join 2 other father/son members. 3.5 or better, or large 2.5( will discuss), no guest, no camping, $1350 plus some plot work. This land hunts more like 600 ac. It has 200 ac. pasture and soybeans/wheat, 200 ac.10 yo pines, 200 ac, mixed mature, 150 ac. large pines, 4 existing clover plots and 3 large summer/fall plots being added this spring and a couple of small plots in pasture. It was wiped out 5 years ago(brown and down) and have spent 4 years letting them walk. I have hunted by myself the last two years but cant afford it any more. I saw 35 deer from my stands and only shot a yote last year. It held about 40+ deer last year with a 2.5 to 1 ratio. It should have 8-10 shooters on it next year including a 14 pt. 6.5 yo buck. He was there when I got the place. Mid December rut. It's all flat and wetland. I know that's a high cost, but it's only 3 members. No hogs and a few turkey...... We have what you are looking for. Its about a Hour from Trussville. My son and I hunt don't hunt it a lot and the other father/son lives in B'ham and Knoxville that will hunt 2 or 3 days a month. You can hunt it and never see anyone. Its covered in deer. Saw 10 Sat. The small pines make great cover for the deer. We really don't have rules. Just want to shoot what you will mount. Great landowner. You will have a say in what we do. Were Christian dads and our kids are 19 and 23. I have 8 toms on it now that are playing hide and seek with me. Had a 10 and three 8's killed last year and will have some nice bucks next year. If you like I can sent you a PDF map.
