Looking for hunting club around Baldwin County - 08/12/21 01:07 AM

I'm looking to join a hunting club around the Baldwin County area that would allow me to bring my 11yo son with me. Thanks.

Looks like alot of views but no reccomendations. I would even consider surrounding counties also. Mobile, Escambia, Monroe, Clark, Washington and others. I grew up hunting with my dad and just want to spend some time with my son before the years pass us by in the blink of an eye like they seem to do. Thanks for any input.

There are several located between 1-10 and Perdido/Bay Minette @ 65. One has a sign by the road that says Baldwin County Hunting Club. Don’t know anything about the clubs or the deer in that area, but I saw the sign last week.

I went to look at one in "Greenville" yesterday. Actually it was just outside Greenville in Lowndes County. Found the post on Craigslist and called. The guy "Bob" wouldn't give exact address but did give directions on how to get there. Was a little too far out for me but I went and checked it out anyway. It's off Hwy 263. I haven't been so nervous in a lonnnng time. It's way back off in the woods and I was nervous the whole time I was there. He said he has a "lake" behind house which is really a hydrilla infested pond. Just think the movie Deliverance. The house he lives in about a mile off the road looked like it was abandoned 30 years ago. Then while talking with him I saw some guy peeking at me from behind a tree down by the pond who apparently lives down there in a tarp. Abandoned campers and vehicles sitting all around. I really thought I wasn't going to make it out of there. There's the club house beside his house which also looked to be last used around 30 years ago. He said the sign out sheet and a map is also on the porch. I went to the steps and a large rattlesnake slid from one side of the porch to some ripped up couch cushions on the other side so I backed away. He wanted me to drive around the property on roads that does require use of 4wd to check it out. He had a map of the property and it seemed huge. He's pushing 90 and can hardly hear or move around but the guy living in the tarp by the pond was making me nervous. Who knows who else was out there. I told him I was going to check the "lake" out and got the hell out of there.

We need to know more information to point you in the right direction.

What’s your budget?
What’s your limit on drive time/miles from the house?
Do you turkey hunt?
Do you need a camp, or just a place to hunt?

Most clubs lose members in May/June and start looking to replace those members via advertisement at that time of year. If you find one with an opening this time of year, you better scrutinize it real hard.

Try searching Facebook. I had luck doing that a few years ago. A lot of clubs post on them. One of the Facebook groups is called “lower Alabama hunting clubs.”

Army99, please PM me if you are still looking for something. I may have what you are looking for. And no, it isn't scary. It's a nice place. Just been thinking about adding someone. Still not sure if we will, but want to know what you are looking for.
