Yes that's the one. The year I was in we had over 5,000 acres and 30 or 40 members. There were maybe 20 deer killed and maybe half the guys never even seen a deer.

That's the place. Drinking and gas lights in the camper didn't get along. That was the year I was in it.

Re: gods country hunting club(coosa county) - 02/23/16 06:30 PM

Its the only club I've ever been in where everybody raced to the WMA on days it was open, especially club officers.

Re: gods country hunting club(coosa county) - 02/23/16 07:23 PM

I saw probably 20 that year killed a doe with my bow a nice 8pt and shot another nice buck but didn't find him. [img:center]http://[/img]
The one on the right is the one I killed. I hunted my butt of that year and had a buddy who hunted almost as much as me who saw only 4 or 5.

Re: gods country hunting club(coosa county) - 02/24/16 12:31 PM

how can southeastern have good deer and GC not when its literally across the paved road

Re: gods country hunting club(coosa county) - 02/24/16 01:00 PM

It's nothing more than the way that each club is hunted. There are deer on both properties but SEHC has pretty strict rules to try and make the hunting as good as it can be for the area.

Re: gods country hunting club(coosa county) - 02/24/16 01:27 PM

Southeastern you can't be on club property except workdays and hunting season.

Unless they changed something they use to hog hunt all summer so that's not necessarily true. But I haven't known anyone in it in a few years.

Re: gods country hunting club(coosa county) - 02/24/16 06:40 PM

I'm pretty sure you just can't be roaming around on the property during deer and turkey season. I believe the rest of the year is ok to hog hunt and scout or what ever.

Re: gods country hunting club(coosa county) - 02/24/16 08:21 PM

I was told that it wasn't a recreational club. Maybe I took it the wrong way. Not downing club. If the majority of the members support that it's all that matters.

Re: gods country hunting club(coosa county) - 02/24/16 08:35 PM

Just curious. What does recreational club mean???
Posted By: hayman

Re: gods country hunting club(coosa county) - 02/24/16 08:39 PM

It is definitely not a party club. It is run by some older gentlemen that go by their set rules or you don't go at all. They try hard to have a good hunting experience with decent results.

Re: gods country hunting club(coosa county) - 02/24/16 08:46 PM

I agree looks like they have a good thing going. Wasn't looking for a party just somewhere I could take my wife and kids to enjoy the outdoors.

Yes. I bought a cabin there from the lady whose husband died there. I killed the biggest deer of my life there. It was the only deer I saw all season. I know a young man who hunted there after the change of leadership and he said they were good people. That is all I know. It was a big place, but I think some of it has been let go.

Re: gods country hunting club(coosa county) - 02/28/16 02:42 PM

I'd love to buy a cabin right there near the water or on the water. Do yall know of any available

Re: gods country hunting club(coosa county) - 02/28/16 05:56 PM

Gene Sims is advertising the place through Facebook. He was one of the club officers the 1 year I was in it, when it sucked.
