Hello all,

I just moved to Huntsville for new job and looking for a solid hunting club, I am use to management rules and system and expect people to follow. Looking for areas in North to Middle Alabama and South TN.

Have great hunting experiences and management guide lines that I will follow even if none are in place.

Please send me a PM or reply below.

Thanks all

First, Welcome dishout!
I like that one of your first posts is about looking for the Holy Grail. Go BIG or go home right? Good luck finding a place. There are a lot of folks looking for same thing you are.

Welcome Dishout! The good news is there is a TON of public hunting land within an hours drive from you.

There IS a ton of great public land actually. The Bankhead National Forest has great deer and some turkey. If you look back a few days youll see "got my mount back" post , or something like that, by MTEAGUE.
He shot a great buck there.
Theres great Hogs hunting there and at the Black Warrior WMA. I shot one there last year.

There is Skyline to your east as well. They have good deer and turkeys.
A bunch of the guys from here hunt boththem.

Theres a guy here called MattBrock whos the biologist at the Black warrior WMA in Moulton as well.
And there is the archery only area in Decatur/Tanner..Swan Creek etc.

Lots of prime public land like Casey (foldemup) stated.
Dont get discouraged. You should do good.

North Al private land is hard to find.

They claim not many hunt it, but I don't like the sound of it and it's right in my backyard pretty much.

From my understanding it's by the backside of coal mine mountain and everybody knows that mountain and anything by it is way over hunted.

Interesting. Had somebody who is /was in the club tell me it was right by the backside of coal mine. sounds like I got bad info or they were terrible with directions.

Ha yall wanna talk hunting pressure. Try 12 on a little under 300. Comes out to just shy of 25 acres a person. Only state rules apply and can't have guest first or last week of season.

Re: Lookinf For North Alabama Hunting Club - 10/09/15 01:17 AM

Hello to all.. I am new here so here goes. I could copy and paste my message from several prior post. In Huntsville, looking for land purchase, long term lease, or membership in trophy club in N. Alabama or S. Tennessee. I have hunted all my life and do much more watching than shooting. Quality more important than quantity. I have plenty of S. Alabama land to hunt but would like to be nearer Huntsville. Message me with any suggestions if I am not too late for this season.

Thanks in advance.......

Try Public ground around Fish Hatchery off hwy 64 in Kelso, TN. It has some studs on it and not hunted much but you better be in shape, has alot of rolling hills some are very steep.
