Looking for lease or good club

Looking for lease or good club - 07/14/15 08:16 AM

I ultimately would like my own lease, but does anyone know of a good club looking for a good hunter in Montgomery, Macon, Bullock or Dallas counties?

Okay, after reading some of the replies to other requests on here, it appears that some of you are averse to sharing information with someone who is new to this site. I am new here because I literally just found this site yesterday.

I represent myself and a couple other guys. We would love to have our own lease. We came together because we are so tired of the "club" experience. You know...the clubs where you are given a set of rules to follow like....130" minimums or "we are only shooting 3 1/2 YO bucks" and then after you allow a 90" 8pt or an impressive 2 YO to walk you find that same deer hanging in the cooler the next weekend because some dip**** is backstanding you or going through the log book to find out where you hunted because he knows you are seeing deer. Then you get to hear the lame*** excuse as to why he killed it. I have encountered some rough deals in clubs, BUT it is so hard for me to find anything worth a crap to hunt. I live in Elmore county and though there are some good areas there, they pale in comparison to the counties I have listed. I am not afraid of work and I am damn good at running my tractor and planting. I have only harvested three bucks in the last 4 years and two are on my wall. The other was a 225lb 3pt that I watched feed on 8 different occasions.

If I cannot find a good piece of land to lease then I will join a club. I can find clubs all over the place but I would really like to join a good club. My definition of a good club is one that is not over-populated with hunters. Preferably 200 acres or more per hunter. A club that is run correctly and the rules are adhered to. If you know of anything....sorry....if any of you good folk are willing to share any lead with me then it will be greatly appreciated. Thx

Good luck in your search for a good lease.
When you find one be prepared to jump on it, because if you don't someone else will!

It isn't that people don't want to share with a newbie, but you are asking about land in the most sought after part of the state for deer hunting. If people hear of land in this area they are usually interested themselves.

I live in the Blackbelt and am not looking for land so if I hear of anything, I'll pass it on.

I am fully aware of how sought after land is in these areas, but it doesn't hurt to ask. I appreciate ya jawbone!

To have one hunter per 200 acres is going to be more expensive. We don't quite meet that number, but we have a good time.

Boxman, did you see the thread where some are speculating that the Dallas County Sedgefield may be for sale? Just write them a check and you'll have everything you want in a hunting spot.

I kid, I kid. If you could afford that place you wouldn't be wasting your time with peons like us.

Hell, I'd settle for 2,000 acres on King's Bend.

I'd settle for 200 acres. It's King Bend road according to locals, drop the S.

I reckon you would. I've seen some brutes come off of the Buchanan hardwood tract in King Bend. I also saw skinny dig up what he thought was a finger there one year. Still gives me nightmares. grin

Boxman: First may I ask your name please? I'm Todd Swindall with Pine Ridge Hunting Camp. We have a really good club in Pike Montgomery and Coffee counties. We are interested in three or four more members to join our group. We are considering adding more land to our 3350 acres presently. Currently we are less than 30 members. Most are out of state or out of town . We harvest mature game for sure. Doesn't have to be a book deer to harvest though. Pressure is minimum for we have four separate properties. We have a 1400 , 850, 550, and 400 ac tract of land. May add an additional tract. I'll be glad to fill you in more . I'd rather speak to you on the phone if you are interested. We have an Rv park here and a camp house. If interested call me at 3344823532. You may Pm me before you call. This is a great club. I started it with my father and Timbercruiser over 20 years ago. Good luck and hope to hear from you.
