We need a few members

We are in the Greenville area . We have great land and camp. Big timber lots of game. Great bow hunting . This is private land 3000ac at $10 per ac. we carry 16-18 members at $2500 ea. We are loaded with wildlife . When i say loaded i mean you can see 15-20 deer a day from the camp porch. I can email a folder with info to serious enquirers. thanks

been a member on aldeer since 2011, Got 10 deer in the food pl0t at one time during the day, 15 turkeys gobble back at once, and caught 17 bass on 17 casts. and had 7 or 8 threads on here looking for members. and shoots 20 mounters a year. Were do I send my money.

It ain't me stirring shucks up this time.

I looked at the club last year when they needed 9 new members. They dont want you in if you actually hunt. You are supposed to just sit on the porch and watch deer from there and drink coffee. They also discourage bringing your 10 year old son or your wife. They may be to loud or put to much pressure on the wildlife you see from the porch!

...so its a deer watching club?

Is there a fine if you even bring a gun or bow? This could make or break someone's decision....

It sounds like you were an actual member, Beans. Because this is an acurate description of the club. If Ray had been this candid with me last year I would never have joined. And they're replacing half the membership again this year. I found out after joining, this happens every year.

However, it's probably pointless to call him out Goodman. We all know folks like this, and they just live the dream inside their heads.

This is my last visit to this site. When you have a place as nice as ours it is hard to find people who can enjoy it they just can't stand it. Example one guy on here bashing says to me we gotta kill all these deer looking at 14 from the porch latter he admitted killing 8 from the porch. Yes he is pissed he was let go. Another Just ask radaralph 3 questions. Did he try to rejoin? yes but was voted out by the membership.. Ask him about his mountain of Oxycontin at home? Ask him about getting arrested for jumping the fence at a petting zoo and stabbing a doe to death? Yes
These are the kind of people that go wild when the club votes them out . Oh these guys also saw plenty of bucks and killed some nice ones that is why they wanted to re-join. yes the video of a 7pt standing in the food plot being ask from 15 yrds. wheres your daddy is still passed around the club. And this year we had 2 members stand at the pond one with scale one fishing and in 15 minutes weighed in 24 lbs of bass best 5.5 second 4.5 GoodBye forever

I have GOT to hear this story.

Well since Ray has made it personal and put it out to the public, let me give you the details. The deer stabbing incident took place 40 yrs ago. I've never taken an Oxy in my life. His son is the grug addict, as told to me by long time members. And several of the members are smoking grass every night. I didn't try to rejoin, I was asked to find a new club before the season was even over. The only ones who complained was his son Wes and Kyle the bow hunter. This was straight from Ray's mouth. It was because I'm retired and hunted during the week when they were at work. At this point Ray is pissed because I'm following him around the web and posting the truth about him. Here is the rest of the story:

This is a list of Bullet Points I put on an earlier Craigslist posting. Ray complained about it and it was removed, as was his posting for a Hunting Club. He calls the club The Gentleman's Hunting Club.

- No Guests after a certain date. Unless it's a family member such as his brother or one of his "Chosen Ones".

- Fees. Don't be surprised by a hidden electric bill. Just before bow season Ray says we need to pay $25 a month for Oct, Nov, Dec, Jan and Feb. Three members paid in full. One member paid for a month. (The only month he hunted all year.) The other members? NADA. The 4 that paid are not hunting there this year.

- Guest Fees. You'll be asked to pay them. Don't expect his son, brother or the Chosen Ones to pay. And don't bother to ask to see an accounting. That's like Hillary's emails. Locked in a server in the basement.

- No hunting over bait, unless it's Ray, or his son or his brother or his new young bow hunter. Or the two guys from Destin. They all put out pallet loads and truck bed loads of corn and rice bran over hidden spots in the woods and around food plots. If you do it too, you're putting too much pressure on the food plot and drawing all the deer.

- I didn't hunt at all during bow season. I hunted 4 days in Nov and 4 days in Dec. I hunted 3 ½ weeks during Jan. I was accused of putting too much pressure on the 3000 acres because I hunted on weekdays instead of weekends when his son could hunt. Ray was there every day that I was. And a hell of a lot when I wasn't. His son and the young bow hunter hunted 3 times as much as I did including week long stay when they took vacations. I was told to look for a new camp.

- Ray says to let the young bucks walk. The first buck his son brought in had about 75"of antler. Rays' first 2 bucks killed this year had about 90" of antler, COMBINED.

- He was advertising sitting on the couch and watching color TV with HBO. Maybe, maybe not. I brought three couches, a dining room table, chairs and the TV up with me. I took them home along with my 2 bunk beds too. The satellite dish is coming out as well.

- Don't trust anything Ray says. I asked him on a couple of occasions about doing something not specifically covered in the rules. He told me one thing in the presence of others. He then sent out emails a few days later telling me not to do what he said I could.

- I tried to be a good member by following the rules, asking for clarification and getting along with others. I cooked suppers for the entire camp on more occasions then I can count. I asked nothing in return, just good fellowship. When Ray said there were others complaining I was hunting too much, I offered no apology. I called them whiny a$$ bitches that were jealous I was retired and could hunt when I wanted. I guess that hit too close to home since apparently his son was the number one culprit. Rays' own words to me in his last email were "Thanks for being a good camp member".

Two other members were told they were hunting too hard as well. They're both out. One of them joined me in a new camp near York, AL Much bigger property, same price of $2500, less members and they laughed when I told them about "Hunting too hard."

Ask him about selling corp memberships to Eddie Salter. The Turkey Man. I went to collect my belongings in March and there were a dozen people in camp. Eddie had "sold" hunts to 4 guys (@$2500 a pop) from New Jersey to film on his TV show. Ray didn't tell Eddie about the 2 dedicated Turkey hunters from Baldwin Co that had been long time members. They joined the club just for the turkeys. And he didn't tell those two about Eddie Salter. It all came out after dues were paid and checks cashed.

These are the reasons he's replacing half his membership. Unfortunately, I found out after joining this happens every year.

So....you're saying you DID stab a doe to death. You might get a hall of fame nomination if you'll tell that part of the story too.

As for leaving this site for good Ray, let me tell you. You can run but you can't hide. As long as you advertise publicly for new members I will find you. And I will tell the truth. Something that seems to escape you.

Ray is just mad cause you stabbed a doe with a pocket knife which makes you pretty much a bad ass. You can probably get hero status around here with a story.

Deer stabbing. True story.

Nickel beer night at The Barrels night club. Pensacola around 1977. Stationed at NAS Pensacola, Forest Sherman Field. The scene of the crime was the Aviators Land and Sea Survival school. I did not act alone but you can imagine the details.

Not proud of it but never tried to hide from it.

I believe I speak for everyone when I say you are going to have to tell that story. You can't possibly have an epic story such as that and leave us with a cliffhanger.

The last week of Jan Ray sent an email to 3 of us pissing and moaning about "Hunting too Hard". We needed to stop and slow down. These were his words. Next time in camp the 3 of us sat down to discuss his issue and thats when he said his son and Kyle were complaing we were hunting too hard and presurring the property. Have you ever hunted 3000 acres? It's huge!! The next week when he was wanting to know who would return next year I was advised I should look for a new camp.

That's a crock. I told that story at dinner one night (that I cooked and fed to the entire camp) and they were laughing their butts off. The truth is, his son was pissed off because he's still working for a living and I'm retired. I promise you, every day that boy was at work he could think of nothing other than the fact that I was hunting and he wasn't. That I might kill a big deer while he was at work. And he was whinning to his daddy about it. I know, all of you know "deer hunters" like this.

My name is Steve Ted O. I go by Ted Just wanted to Give you some History. I am a accountant I handled the company Mr Ray worked for years . I Did the numbers for this club in short 3000ac. plus all expenses . Was 40,000.00 of that Mr. Ray payed $15,000.00 a season . I was in this club for 5 yrs. till 2011. Me and my Grandson Camden both killed fine bucks on the place and I have a video of Camden catching 7 bass in a row when he was 8yrs old.
Mr. Ray called me about pulling some funds from some of his investments I manage to pay the lease. He told me what was up so I elected to tell the my side of these post. 1. His two sons payed $50. a week out of there checks till there dues were payed I handled the account I know ! 2. I can't name all the times he set members up on bucks he Knew of including 2 I mounted . I watched him go home 2.5 hrs each way to get his yellow lab to find lost bucks for members. Last count I remember the dog had found 9 over the years. Each year the club seemed to need to let a couple go. One yr we let go 2 brothers they killed 26 doe between them. When they left in July they took most every shooting house. We did not know till time to prep plots. Ray went and bought 22 double seater ladder stands to replace them with his money and we all built stands for 2 days. He is not the Man said on here. Listening to guys that were removed for a reason? Shame on you. He told me about this Ralph yelling and dog cussing the members because someone had used a 1/2 pound of his 1 pound bag of flour! Ray said he just calmly walked over to the other camp and came back with 2 bags of flour ! He said he never even told the guy that used it how he was called a no good... He just added it to one more reason to let Ralph go. Any way Ray needed 3 more guys and ask me to pull the funds as far as I know he's keeping it. TED.

You say the boys paid $50 per week until their dues were paid? It would take 50 weeks to pay $2,500, and there are only 52 in a year, so I guess they didn’t make a payment for two weeks per year.

First Ray makes it personal and attacks me while I was trying to be discreet. Now he sends a sycophantic surogate to throw stones at me too. And he has greatly exaggerated the flour incident. The person I supposedly "Dog Cussed" for using all the flour has joined me in the new camp in York. Incidentally, Ray emailed him last week and told him to have all his belongings out of the camp by the end of May. Ray said the lease was full, there was no longer room for him and the locks would be changed June 1. Ray emailed one of the turkey hunters from Baldwin co this weekend and said he was letting the lease go. Now his surogate says Ray is paying 3 spots for the lease out of his own pocket. For a guy who hasn't worked in 2 years Ol Ray must be pretty flush.

But more importantly he keeps telling a different story. By last count, that's three. And he has yet to refute ONE SINGLE ASSERTION I have made about his camp or him. This goes to character, a quality Ray is apparently short of.

As for the accountant. I'm not sure who he is. I never saw him in camp this year and he wasn't a member. In fact, I think both Ray and his accountant are one and the same. They both write like they're illiterate. (That means lacking an education, Ray)

I don't mind defending myself. I don't have anything to hide. But this thread should serve as a warning to anyone thinking of cutting a $2500 check to "The Gentleman's Hunting Club". We can keep this up until the Mods shut us down. Stayed tuned for the full account of the doe stabbing.

I guess I'll post some more about the ongoing saga of Poor Ol Ray. At 1:17p on Monday Ray's "accountant " BRACK, posted on here defending Good Ol Ray and bashed me for dog cussing my friend over the "flour incident". He went on to say Ray didn't even mention it to him.

Well, my friend forwarded an email to me yesterday which Ray sent him on Monday at 1:45p. (I'm sure the timing is purely coincidental.) Ray incoherently rambled on about how I was hating on him and he didn't do anything wrong. My brain was hurting trying to make sense of his lack of punctuation, capitalization, proper sentence structure or correct spelling. To paraphrase, he says he's just a great guy and doesn't understand where all this is coming from. He ends the email by telling my friend how I had cussed him up and down for using all the flour.

I said it before and I'll say it again. Ray does not know how to tell the truth. Further evidence you should avoid him and his club. He still has not denied a single one of the points I made earlier. Like I told my friend, it really wasn't about the unfair application of rules. That was Ray's issue, not mine. I followed the rules. If Ray wanted to enforce or not enforce rules with others that was up to him.

But when he accused my friend and I (and 1 other) we were hunting too hard and had to slow down, that was the straw that broke the camel's back. This is the real reason Ray asked me to find another camp. All the other crap is a smoke screen.

As long as Ray continues to bash me and continues to troll for members I will continue my crusade to inform you. Remember Ray, you made it personal and public.

Ralph, we're you Marine or Sailor? Heard 2 different versions of the doe killin.

All right. Grab a cold one and let me tell you a story-

I was a just turned 21 yr old sailor. My partner in crime was also a sailor. I worked in the ATC tower at NAS Penscola. I can tell you that beer goggles go far beyond just improving the looks of a woman at 2330. It can make the stupidest ideas sound absolutely brilliant.

After 3 hours of drinking draft beer at a nickle a glass at The Barrels we decided to go back on base and catch a turkey at the Land Sea Survival school. Thanksgiving was just a few weeks away and this sounded entirely reasonable. When we got there the turkeys were roosting under a vapor light so my partner says "Lets kill a deer." With that we ran one down and stabbed it to death. Very similar to a bow kill but like our cave man ancestors, there was a lot more running involved.

The 10' chain link fence proved to be too much of a challenge or we might have got away with it. (As long as no one was counting the deer herd.) So we hung the deer on the fence and butchered it. Pulled hams, shoulders, backstraps and tender loins. Tossed them over the fence, loaded it all into the coolers in my truck and headed off base to my sisters house. We cut and wrapped meat all night then went back to the barracks.

I had a middle of the day shift the following day. Went I got off work that evening NCIS was in the tower parking lot taking blood samples off my tailgate.

You would think the story would be the end of it. Au contraire. That story followed me for the rest of my federal career. For 30 plus years I ran into people who would meet me and say "Hey, aren't you the guy who killed the deer?"

Like I said earlier, I was never proud of it but I never tried to hide from it. And it makes for an interesting story at deer camp. Unless of course, you're easily offended like Poor Ol Ray.

Hell we all make mistakes..I couple buddies of mine got arrested for killing a cow about 18 years ago in mobile..They cleaned that mutha at another friends radiator shop..Few days later some detectives showed up & found cow hair in the back drain..

And I thought I was bad. Back in the 1970's I was running a 106mm Recoilless Rifle range while I was an officer in the U S Army. A lone doe walked out next to an APC hull at 800 meters and I couldn't resist. Since a 106 mm HEAT round will go through 21 inches of solid steel, there wasn't much left of the doe. Beer wasn't involved, just a dumb1LT who missed the deer woods.

For stupid stuff like some guys pay more than some guys for power or some crap. Well some guys me included do more than our share of the work days and I did not pay the 125 for power , but I did go buy the club tractor a 149.00 battery the day it went bad so we could keep working while the guys bashing on here sat at the house. In the last 3 seasons we have voted out 1-2 a year for being sorry like they are doing on the web. Everything from shooting deer and leaving them lay because they were not big enough to bring to the camp . To a idiot trying to call coyotes 150yrd from your stand in the rut. If you want a list of trouble makers let me know and I feel for the clubs they join most have to find a new each year so they are coming your way. I can tell you this . This is the only club I have ever been in where you see young Rack bucks on 15 of the 30 plots almost every time you sit it. There are a lot of idiots that can't stand that and bad mouth the place when they are removed. Yes we have to run off a few Nuts to keep it that way. Hope you don't meet them ! P. S. Poor Ol Ray. He just can't help himself. He's gone from trolling for suckers to subsidize his deer lease to looking for a sympathetic ear to blame his troubles on. He doesn't realize that once he sends an email, it's preserved forever. He sends conflicting stories to his members trying to stir up hate and discontent. This post says he bought the tractor battery but his email on Monday says his son bought the battery. I keep hoping current or former members will come on here and tell the rest of the stories.

- Like the one where his brother shot his rifle over the heads of the Game Wardens one evening

- Or that the game wardens visited the camp on several occasions for a couple of seasons due to the activities of some members

- Or the drunk who went on a couple different shooting rampages during the night in the middle of the camp

- Or the fist fight at the skinning shed.

- Or the fact Poor Ol Ray has to replace HALF his membership every single year

These are legendendary stories told at The Gentleman's Hunting Club. But I can't swear to them since I was not a member then.

There should be a waiting list a mile long to join this club. Brand new Double Wide camp, abundance of deer and turkey, extremely gracious land owner and spectacular woods. Too bad the guy running it is incompetant and self serving. And now he's trying to blame his woes on everybody else. If I didn't know better I'ld swear he was a democrat. It's the Rebublicans, George Bush, the Koch brothers or maybe Wall Street's fault.

Back to topic. Ralph, you don't know me but thanks for for your attempts to dethrone Ray. I was a member before you. I know of several former members watching this thread but none want to post. Too many bad memories. Ray has managed the club for about 14 years I'm guessing. He has been able to recruit members every year because the property sells itself. It is one of the best properties in the black belt. However, I assure everyone if you join you will be extremely disappointed. The club is grossly miss-managed and if you know how to hunt you will be made to feel unwelcome. There is a reason at least half the members leave every year. Ray really screwed up with the Salter thing. Some former members are grouping together and plan to talk to Atkins about taking over the lease. Every former member that was asked if they would join is interested with the stipulation that none of the Pattersons be allowed in the club. I think Atkins will be reluctant to cut Ray out because he doesn't know what goes on. I like how Ray tried to make you out as crazy. Ray should tell the story of how he and a guy brought a spine shot buck to the cleaning station while it was still alive. Ray might come back and tell the story. He thinks it's funny. Better yet get his son Cameron to post videos he took of a buck that took a while to die. When asked why he didn't put the buck down Cameron claimed he was out of ammunition. His uncle was even disgusted by the video.

I will add to this, I have been in contact with Ray about the Club. I have to say it is 2 very conflicting stories. I have not looked at the place and honestly doubt I will because I cant afford to lose anymore money on hunting. I hate the fact that such a great place, hunting wise, has came to this. Love to hear from other past members and their take.Some of these stories are nuts, but we do live in a crazy world. To get kicked out for hunting to much just blows my mind! That is what is tough when you go to get into clubs, you just never know who people truly are. It is still tempting to go meet and look at place, and really see for myself. If my son was not involved and primary hunter It would be tempting.

Deer will make people do crazy things. Ego, jealously and the inabilty to mature are bad character traits.

That fact that it's such a beautiful piece of property is what makes it frustrating. They will accuse you of hunting out of season. The will accuse you of shooting does or lesser bucks. They will accuse you of over pressuring the deer. That's really a joke, Ray and Wes scrub hunt the whole club. They end up wounding and losing deer every year. The Cameron story where he videoed the dying buck. I should have mentioned he shot 2 bucks and brought them back to camp. They were both young. One was a 4 pt and the other a 5pt. Against the rules of course but he claimed they were cull bucks. It got so ugly that night I can't believe it didn't come to blows between the Cameron and a first year member. A couple of members packed up and left in the middle of the night after that. Ray wasn't there that night. I shouldn't have posted here. I'm just getting angry about things I thought I had put behind me.

Don't fall into temptation. There is a reason that the only people that stay in this club are Ray, his family, and fellow cronies. Save your time and gas. There are plenty of other options out there.

Certainly you have friends or family that are in a good club that will recommend you as a prospective member.....that is the only way to be sure of what you are getting. Blind calling from ads posted anywhere is like playing the lottery....You might pick a winner but the odds are against it.

Hey guys! A friend of mine, and a past member of this club, found this thread and informed me it was a "must read". His handle is Deltarunner. I read it and had to chime in. So, I made a profile last night so I could get in on Mr. Ray Pattersons' Roast.

I too was a member of this club 3 years ago. I will be honest and say that I truly miss the woods there, absolutely beautiful. The place really sells itself. But........ This man lies as well as he breathes, and ignorant, and thinks everyone else is ignorant. Let start here, most of the pictures of bucks that he advertises are not even from the property. Some are pics from Tennessee, which were confirmed by his son Wes, and others are from a parcel they use to lease about a mile down the road, also confirmed by Wes. By the way, is a whinny, can't wait to tell his daddy kind of "grown man", and that could be a whole other rant by itself. Back to Ray, this man also posted new rules to the club with 3 weeks left in the season and a list of people not going to be ask to rejoin the following year. He thought this was the solution to members not agreeing with his management scheme. By the by way, was this "No more does until ALL the browse on the entire property is eaten down, then we need to see 50 plus deer on a food plot at any given time across the property!", he said. I mean, I'm no biologist but come on, there are around 20 food plots on this property, you do the math. Then he would complain about pressure on the deer, while him and his sons would scrub entire sections of the property, repeatedly. If you tried talking to them about it, they were ignorant enough to tell you why they do it, "because we killed some good bucks in that section, just walking the roads". My take on that this, its ok if you are a Patterson, but if you hunt from a climber or tree stand more than 1.5 hours a day then its "too much pressure".

This could go on and on. I hope you guys get the point. STAY AWAY FROM THIS GUY!!! I bet he changes the name of the club in a final desperate attempt to keep the lease, so watch out for that, but if anyone else can get the lease, please call me. It will take a couple years to get this place on track but the potential is great!

Anyone that videos a dying deer or brings one to the cleaning rack still alive because of a spine shot should have their hunting privileges legally revoked for a few years. That's absolutely ridiculous.

I was not there to witness this act, but did hear the story from Rays brother Paul around the fire one night, he even seemed disgusted. The son Cameron was flat out crazy. Not only was he part of that, he also strung together 2 bundles of balloons and placed them a few yards apart on a food plot thinking he could get pictures of deer standing between them. He posted videos on youtube of himself purposely wounding deer so he could film them dying up close. To show that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Ray shot 2 hogs, on separate occasions, that he drug to the side of the road then miraculously disappeared before he could get back to them with a 4wheeler. He has 2 very similar stories about 2 different bucks, which were found a couple days later, then he claimed he thought he missed after denying that he shot. We cut the head from one, brought it back to the camp and his son Wes confirmed that his father claimed to have killed it and recognized it by trial cam pics, but gave up looking for it. The buck was found about 200 yards from the stand he shot from.

I dont understand how the land owner allows this stuff to go on. Does he/she check in from time to time just to make sure everything is going ok? Obviously not I guess.

I was disappointed to hear XXXX, with outfitters depot was up expressing discontent this past weekend. XXXX had ask me about harvesting 9 doe for he and his wife under outfitter depot. I told him no - 3 is plenty . XXXX belongs to another club and his partner XXXX is in a club nearby I figure get 3 from each if you must have 9? sounds right to me. I understand he made the comment that he will have to find another home. Sorry to hear this I was hoping for a long term relationship.
Turkey season has it's limits also, It is 5 mature gobblers under any one membership. 5 is a total no matter where in the state they are taken.
I am doing my best to try and keep everyone happy and I am always seeking ways to finance this place and make it better.. We are working on coyotes that are taking so many of our deer. If we can increase the mortality of our deer we can increase our harvest. I have hopes that we can harvest what members wish plus be able to have some income producing bow hunts to help pay for a few tons of off season supplement feed . Apparently Ray, the info you have received is not completely accurate. Unfortunately, you have not returned any of my phone calls the past 2 weeks so I have not been able to express my concerns with you personally. As the president of any organization and after accepting thousands of dollars from your members, the right thing to do would be to return your phone calls...yep, sounds right to me! Either way, I don't appreciate the lack of consideration and respect you are illustrating and don't understand why you refuse to communicate. When you were trying to sell me this corporate membership to me, you called several times a week and always returned my calls, funny you can't seem to do that now! Whenever you get ready, I will be more than happy to give you first hand facts from me, rather than you take second hand info and start throwing punches in a public email...totally unprofessional in my opinion, yep sounds right to me!

Another disappointed member. Rather then contact the member and discuss his issue privately, Ray sent his email to the entire membership. Real class act. I wasn't there and I don't know the actual message the member was trying to express. But if I had to guess I would say Ray's son passed on his own version of events to his dad. Stay tuned. Tomorrow marks two weeks since Ray first posted here trolling for members (suckers) to subsidize his deer lease. In that time this post has had almost 8500 hits and over 175 responses. This is epic beyond words. My only reason to post here was to discreetly and via PM warn ALDEER members of my personal experience with Ray and his club. I would allow them to draw their own conclusions. Ray Patterson chose to make it public and then personnaly attack me. All I can say is, Karma is a bitch. I've heard from people far and wide that the message has been heard. I'm glad two former members came here to voice their identical experiences too. I'm not sure what the property status is but if I get word, I will share it here.

This should serve as a lesson to all hunters when searching for a club to join. Most of us are on this forum to share, discuss and learn from others. Most of us just want to enjoy the deer camp experience. To have an opportunity to hunt, socialize and even introduce our kids to the sport. It's getting harder and more expensive to accomplish this. Most of us work too hard to squander our money on a club that would take advantage of us. I hope this serves as a lesson to Ray and any other club that treats their members like he does.

We will find you and we will warn others.

I have watched this club seek members for years either on here, other forums and on CL. Me and a couple buddies have always wondered what the deal was with this place. Everything makes sense now to why they are always having turnover. My current club isn't perfect by any means but places that sound this bad make me not want to go looking for other avenues.

Xbolt is not Ray. I've read enough of Rays emails to be sure of that. I wish more former members would post. Everyone I keep up with is reading the thread and thinks its hilarious. It's finally catching up to him. However, he always finds members at the last minute. He has a couple of months to work with. He will probably find unsuspecting hunters to join.....for a year. I think the Pattersons like the turnover. It doesn't give members time to learn the property like they do.

When he post on Craig's list he like to post the picture of the 5 mounts above his couch. Beautiful bucks but they were shot in the bottom below that fancy house on Ridge Road. They use to lease 900 acres there before Atkins sold it. He also likes to post a picture of his brother with a stud 8 pt he shot 5 or 6 years ago. It was shot on adjacent property that use to be part of the lease. The owner ran cattle and Paul shot it over a cattle salt feeder. My point is fraudulent advertising is the Ray way. I also suspect if the lease only includes the land North of the road I seriously doubt that it is 3,000 acres. I would think it's more like 2,500 but I don't really know.

Are there still openings in this club. If so I'm interested. I don't ever hunt but I like to take pictures of deer. I will shoot all coyotes and any other predators while looking for deer to photograph. I will bring my grill and will cook ribeyes, brisket, and baby backs for each member every weekend during the season. I love to cook so breakfast will be served every Saturday and Sunday morning at 4:30 am at my camper. I also have a John Deere 8300, with bush hog, finishing mower, 200 gallon sprayer, 6 row disk, cultivator, middle buster, box blade, rake, and drag, that I could leave at the club for use year around since I dont farm any longer. I also have 12 practically new double man ladder stands, 10 corn feeders, and eight 8x8 plywood shooting houses with shingle roofs and sliding window. I sold my farm and I don't have any use for this stuff so I would be happy to donate it to the club. I could also pitch in an extra thousand or so for fuel for that tractor and feed seed, etc. That big ole tractor drinks it. Im looking for a club that isnt over run with turkey like the one Im in in Monroe county. If you have too many of those dang things they will run all your deer off.

Someone mentioned overrun with turkey, I'm in DB.

This guy might change his legal name after this, but I'm still gonna be skeptical of any club that has 2500-3000 acres of land in the black belt.

Ray told me he's got so many turkey, all you had to do was ride through with the windows rolled down and they would roost on your window seal and if you did have to call them you just hollered out "HERE TURKEY TURKEY" and they'd come a runnin.

I've nominated Ray P. for a Pulitzer Prize in fiction for his Craigslists ads, as well as his ad here on Aldeer. I'm not sure if the Pulitzer committee will consider them separate entries or just one. Either way, they're a lock to win. The awards are announced in April, and actually given out in a ceremony in NYC in May. If/when he wins, all of his fictitious friends from his postings here can join him for the ceremony!

Taking money from working people for a club, and then sub-leasing hunting, especially turkey hunting, if true, proves Rayp and his family are just trashy people. Ray would swear if we all just walk around and talk to the deer/wildlife they would not fear us and become like pets. He actually had vidoes of himself trying to carry conversation with deer in food plots.... I don't know about the rest of you, but I would have a hard time killing mine or someone else's pet. I also must say, with the lack of "pressure" you do come across a lot of relaxed deer on this property, which you all know is rare in AL.

Ok, I've been sitting by and reading all the posts about good old boy Ray and I can tell you that everything that Ralph has posted is the absolute truth when it comes to the Gentlemen's Hunting Club run by Ray and his misfit brother and sons. I was a member last year and witnessed first hand what Ralph has be saying. I met Ralph and two other new members and became friends with them over the hunting season. One member was so upset about Ray's BS that he packed up in the middle of the season and never came back. I hope that this thread alerts all potential members looking for a new club (as I am) to stay clear of Ray P. and the Gentlemen's Hunting Club "NOT". I only wish someone had sounded the alarm last year, would have saved us $2,500 plus $125 electric ect.

Here's a final update on the Gentleman's Hunting Club. Turns out Ray had been lying to his members about the size of the lease. This was alluded to by DeltaRunner awhile back. There were only 2600 acres total, not 3000. At $10 (?) an acre, that translates to an extra $4000 a year in Ray's pocket. In addition, I heard he was in on the Eddie Salter deal to get a cut of the cash paid by turkey hunters wanting to be on the TV show.

In this case, you reap what you sow. Ray has lost the lease. After 17 years, he's out. The property was split into 1200 and 1400 acres parcels. I'm not sure who acquired the property but it wasn't Ray. I just hope this beautiful piece of property is better managed in the future.

I really appreciate all the members who came on this thread to voice support and get the word out. Since this issue was repeating itself year after year, there is no telling how many fellow hunters we saved from being screwed by Ray.

That's his brother Paul. He was on the lease too.
