New club looking for 3 members Clarke County near Marengo - 04/21/15 09:19 PM

I’m starting up a small club of 4 members total (including myself) on 547 acres of prime Hunting land in Morvin, Alabama in Clarke County. The land has 20 year old standing pines (thinned out to allow lots of natural browse to grow) and lots of hardwoods with a few creeks running through it. It also backs up to Bashi Creek. There are 9 big patches with shooting houses and 8 of the patches were put in within the past 4 years. Also within the past 4 years, 2 bridges were constructed over a creek and access roads have been pushed all over the property to make it more accessible and hunt-able. Since this time, there has been very little hunting pressure and young bucks were allowed to walk. 2 bucks were killed, a 120 class and a 130 class. The person who was leasing this property worked a lot and traveled on paid hunting trips, so he never got to hunt it much and decided to let it go.
It will continue to be a Trophy buck club (min 15 inch spread with at least 4 points on 1 side), but with 1 buck of choice per member. For this coming season, the land owners have asked that only 1 doe be killed per member (I don’t mind giving my doe to someone else).
Kill all the Hogs and Turkeys you want. Turkey hunting is restricted to full members and the rights will not be sub-leased.
You must have an ATV to hunt this lease! This is not optional because it is what the land owners have asked in order to keep roads in good shape.
There is no camp house or camper that comes with the membership. However, an area was cleared off for several campers, but no water or power (it would be a ways, but with a ditch-witch, water could be run from the highway). If you want to park your RV on the Lease, plan on buying a quite Honda generator and build a house for it. There may also be someone around the town who would allow campers on their land for a fee, but it will be up to you to find a place to stay or park your camper.
If you like to go to the hunting camp to drink alcohol, curse, cheat on your wife, or if you cannot hunt without the use of corn, this is NOT the place for you. Only law abiding members who can respect each other, put in the work it takes to make this club a great place to go, and just enjoy hunting and the camaraderie. I like to hunt to reduce stress, so no drama wanted.

Cost of membership would be 1/4 cost of Lease + Insurance ($1,414) + 1/4 cost of seed and fertilizer (9 patches. I have not yet figured out what this cost will be and it may double if we decide to plant both Spring and Fall, which is what I’d like to do).
I own a 50hp tractor, but could really use someone else bringing an additional tractor in to the club to help with the work.

It's in a good spot folks. And if it matters to anyone who knows about the area...it's across Bashi Creek from Woods Bluff.
