Shooting house for sale- bet you've never seen an add like this - 10/25/14 08:10 PM

Okay, I built a 4x4 shooting house this summer to replace one that had blown down on some new land my son and I are leasing this year. I bought those leg brackets and attached 10 feet treated 4x4s to it. We had some trouble getting it up because we didn't have the proper equipment. We finally got it up though , and I anchored it with a screw in anchor and a chain. We hadn't been back over there since that last storm we had until yesterday. My son went by, and guess what, yep it was laying on the ground. The wind pulled the anchor right out of the ground. I checked it today, and there was some damage to the house part, but it was mainly just some siding knocked loose. A pretty easy fix. The legs and bracing was all still in tact. We decided that we are not going to try to get it back up and have bought a 2-man quad stand to replace it. Plus, we are going to lose that section of the land to the coal company at some point in the future. If anyone wants to come pick it up, I will let everything go for $200.00. Those leg brackets alone run around $100 at Gander Mt. I think. It is a very well built house and worth a lot more. If you have a trailer and some way to load it, you could
possibly move it as it is. I know this is a weird offer, but there it is. Anyone interested? It is located in Franklin County. I can text some pics of it as it is right now. For more info call or text 256-668-2852. Thanks for looking.

Oh yeah, the only thing not included will be the anchor and chain. I'm going to use those to help anchor the quad stand.

I'm suppose to meet a local guy after church tomorrow to show him the house. He doesn't live very far from where it's located. That being said, it is still for sale as of now. Also, it wouldn't take a lot of work to disassemble and remove the legs for easier transport.

Spruce Pine is near Russellville and the Shoals, but the shooting house is located in the eastern part of Franklin county. Pics on the way.

Dang man. I just built one similar to yours with the same brackets . Hope mine don't blow over as well. Sorry about your luck. $200 was a steal

Yeah, there's probably close to $200 tied up in just the legs and brackets alone. Maybe you'll have better luck with yours.

PM answered, and yes, I know that the proper spelling should have been "ad", not "add" in my original post. Must have had a senior moment.

Pretty sure at least the base and legs are sold, possibly the whole thing. Meeting a guy Saturday to look at it. If he only takes the base and legs, I may take offers on the house itself if we can get it apart in good shape. Of course, it will need a new floor. If there is no interest, I have a spot where I may set it up as a ground blind. Thanks for all the interest, and I will update Saturday night.

Okay, I met with the guy this morning. He wound up buying only the brackets and legs. I have the complete shooting house left. It does need some repairs, primarily the siding straightened up and nailed back on. I took some more pics of it. It is a 4x4x8' house. it is built out of 2x4s (not treated). I am not sure what the siding is but was told it would last a long, long time. It says rev. board on one side of it. We took it off the inside of our carport when we re-modeled. The floor and top is either 1/2" or 5/8' plywood, I can't remember which. the top is covered in tar paper and aluminum. It is put together with nails and screws. It is very heavy. If anyone wants to come get it, I will let it go for $90.00 as is. It is located in eastern Franklin county close to the Winston county line. I can teat pics.

If I knew how to post pics I would, but I don't. On top of that, I got a new phone today, so as of right now, I don't even have pics I can text. Got my first smart phone, and it's too smart for me. Having trouble learning how to use it. That's how bright I am with technology.
