It does need a new battery for the electric start but it cranks with the first pull so I haven't replaced it. 4x4 and everything on it works except for the front brakes. Hahaha! I didn't notice that in the pic when I took it. The Chessie is worth a lot more than the 4 wheeler. Honestly I wouldn't trade him for a brand new 4 wheeler. He's a good'un and a retrieving machine
