I think it probably would. The problem is I’m not sure it’s legal.

Nice cabin for a dang good price.
If the floor plan was laid out horizontally, I’d own it.

Even single wides are 16’ I believe. They move those up and down the highway every day.
I’m sure special wide load rules apply but if there’s a will there’s a way.

We used to make and sell 12x24 buildings at the school, and moved them with a trailer and 1/2 ton trucks. Most were unfinished and a lot lighter than this one, but dimensions were the same. It's been over 20 years and the law may have changed, but back then you just called Montgomery and got a free permit to move it.

If the floor is 12ft wide then it’s too wide to move without a permit and escort. Also takes a different insurance to move one so most roll backs are out. With it being finished most of the guys that move sheds will be out due to weight. You will need to find a house mover. I don’t have any around me in north bama. I work for alabama custom cabins and I have been going through this same thing trying to move some new storage buildings we are making.

Would someone that moves house trailers or mobile homes do it?

Re: 12x24 Cabin - 12/09/22 06:58 AM

This is Alabama, just move it yourself and don’t ask anyones permission. I moved a 12x20 on an equipment trailer almost 200 miles and no one batted an eye.

The guy I hired to move it down there moves storage buildings for a living. He moved it with no problem.

I was thinking it would suck for whoever slept in the bed when the guy on the couch decided to drop a deuce in the middle of the night.
