Any 80s or 90s to early 2000s single cab 4x4s - 07/29/22 10:56 PM

Out there for sale? Prefer chevy or gmc. I'd like to get my hands on a nice 80s 4x4 but I'd settle for another 90s to early 2000s model. I've looked all over market place and it's literally slammed with scams now, and there other good places to look?

They are getting hard to find. 2 big reasons I believe. They either get wrecked or junked out for parts when they break down. They are getting real hard to find at local junk yards in Huntsville area. That's a whole nother issue. Dying junk yards. They are non existent compared to 25yrs ago. I won't waste my time at LKQ or junk yards anymore if I can help it. They were full of old trucks. Especially domestic trucks. Now, they are extinct almost.

Well Obummers cash for clunkers took care of a lot! But you should see the Messsicans hauling shucks on the interstate smdh. But yeah I've seen a few floating around, but i ain't gonna pay some of their ridiculous asking prices. I did let a nice 2000 single cab slip by last month because it was about 1,500 more Than I wanted to pay. HOWEVER regretting that decision now lol

I had an 88 K5 in college and man I would do anything to get it back. I can't find a vehicle made today that catches my eye like my old K5 did.

Currently building my '86 C20 Suburban. Just added a throttle body to the 454. Exhaust and paint are next on deck. Found mine on Craigslist in Georgia.

James, my hunting truck is a regular cab 1990 silverado. Dang there ain't no room in it. Had buckets and a center console, 2 person ride. Put in a bench seat last year, now 3 can ride with no room for anything else. But I wouldn't want to get rid of it, too dependable.

Maple motors in Tennessee had an ‘84 pop up within the last couple of days (I don’t check it every day). But it shows to have a deal pending already. May be worth a call.

I’ve been thinking about fixing up my 85 more. Probably gonna drop a fuel injected 5.3 in it

Maple motors seems to get a lot of fairly priced vehicles. They are worth checking out from time to time.

Agreed. I’d really like to know where they find all of the vehicles and buy them cheap enough to make a profit at their prices. I sure as hell can’t ever find them… they had exactly (other than color) what we were looking for but it was pending as soon as it hit the website. They may have a more up to date Facebook I’m not sure bc I don’t have it. I may have to check that out on the wife’s though.

It’s about 3 hours away from Gee’s Bend but I noticed this one today at a local lot. Allen Jones is very reputable local dealer. He has been in business for a long time. ‘03 swb GM. 4.8 with 278k miles. $5k. I know nothing about it but remembered this thread (although it took me forever to find it again).

I don’t know how far you are willing to drive but I saw a nice 90’s model short bed step side in Lafayette Ga, which is 1.5 hrs from my house in Hokes Bluff. It was red. You could look it up and see if it is on Facebook Marketplace. I know it’s not a scam because I saw the truck in a yard in a nice neighborhood.

I’d love to trade my 2003 Tacoma extra cab 4wd for a 2003-2006 regular cab Silverado myself, 4x4 of course
