They only jam for idiots who don't know how to properly clean a gun.
Keep it clean and dry, it'll fire every single time. One of the best auto rifles ever made.
Our M16s were exactly the same as the 742. In the desert we had to keep them clean and dry. Too much oil, they accumulated dirt and jammed.

You'd be way ahead to save up and get a Browning BAR.....Superior build over a Remington.

Same thing i was thinking I like the mk safari bars but the newer mk3s are ugly

I’ve got a 742 in .30-06 with a fixed 6 power Tasco World Class with a post reticle. $300 Located in Anniston but I’ll be down around Enterprise in about three weeks.
