At Dien Bien Phu (1954, first Indochina War) French mercenaries had run out of ammo, were surrounded, and when surrender was demanded by the Viet Minh they armed themselves with MAS 36s, attached bayonets, and charged down the hill into the Viet Minh. No survivors.
