ISO: 2 or 3 Row Planter - 03/02/17 09:42 PM

I'm looking for a 2 or 3 row planter in good condition. I thought I would check here to see if any of y'all had good deal on one or know of one for sale.

I would like a JD 71 or a 7000 series planter preferably.

I have a 6 row 30" 7000. You could cut it down and have some extra parts. It has row cleaners, no till coulters, seed firmers, monitor, corn and soybean meters, and 3 bushel hoppers.

I saw a 71 JD planter in Lucedale MS the other day at a friends house (he used to be the JD dealer there). It was NOT super nice, but looked decent and had fertilizer hoppers (metal) behind the fiberglass seed hoppers.

I'll bump him up and see what he wants for them. Pm me a cell number and I'll get him to send a few pics if they interest you.

It was a 2 row and on a 3 pt hitch bar, btw.

He also had a pair of IH planters of some vintage on a pull type hitch (requires at least one set of hydraulic outlets on your tractor) and they had a big fertilizer hopper also. I'll find out about them just in case too.

He said $1200 on the Deere planters and $1000 on the IH's. Pics coming if you want them.

I have a Ford 309 two row, that'll take $500 for. That's firm. I've used for several years. It has dry fertilizer box, but the agitators are rusted out. It's been welded on and cut on, it's by no means like new. But, it plants a pretty stand. I have a few different plates for it. Only reason I'm not using it now, is I bought an Allis Chalmers 4 row worth the money. I'm not actively trying to sell it, it makes a good back up. But, if you want to look at it for $500 your welcome to. It's located in Ashville, Al. About 40 minutes north of Birmingham on 59.
