Need Shipping or HotShot Help - 02/19/16 10:52 AM
I just purchased a large tent from one of the government liquidation sites and need to get it to North Alabama or North Mississippi.
Anyone in that business or have freight shipping experience?
The crate is 48" x 87" x 50" (L x W x H) and approximately 700lbs.
Pick up location is
5450 Carlisle Pike
Bldg. 206
Mechanicsburg, PA 17055
Drop of location is
3248 West Jackson
Tupelo, Ms 38801
Shoot me a PM or email if you can help zacshotts@gmail.com
Thank you,
Zac Shotts

I gave this ad to a lady at work whose son runs hotshot from north of Corinth. Don't know what he charges but he may shoot you an email.

You may be cheaper to ship it via LTL freight company.

Either way is going to be expensive LTL will hit him on the size but will still be some cheaper than a hot shot I would think. I know this don't help much but I can get you a ball park price for LTL shipping
LTL is gonna be the way to go.
Once upon a time I could have moved it from Wilkesbarre Pa. To Pelham Al, to Tupelo Ms. for probably free.

I am flexible on pick up basically anywhere from Tupelo tp auburn as I travel all over those areas for work just trying to avoid having to go pick it up myself. Going to make a nice elk base camp setup

If call AAA Cooper, Yellow Freight, or Fedex Freight. FedEx is usually the cheapest.
Most of what I ship is flatbed loads but occasionally I have to use LTL Van trucks.

Saturn Freight, 205-942-5165 Don Gravlee is a great guy I do business with him weekly. He does hotshots regionally or nationally.
I use blue grace logistics. they beat the hell out of everyones prices. they broker the shipment. most of the time triple AAA gets the job. I double check their quotes directly with
triple AAA and its amusing how much they save me.

Ended up getting a very good deal on a LTL shipment for less than fuel. Thanks to everyone who provided information or helped.

Which trucking company did you use?

YRC Freight actually got a better deal doing their online dimensional based ltl versus our corporate account which our rep thought was odd but it worked out cheaper than the cost of fuel to go pick it up.
I am not sure if anyone has a need for a big tent for a base camp but the link below is to what they have for sale. These are suppose to be new in the crate with lights, and thermal liner. Should make a heck of a setup for elk camp this fall and cheaper than an alaknak 12x20.

YRC is cheaper for a reason. Please make sure whoever is on the receiving end inspects the crate and contents thoroughly!!

We quit using them for this very reason most everything we shipped with them had some kind of damage when it got to the customer.....make sure it is checked out before signing for it.

I will be receiving it and will look it over before signing. We normally use FedEx freight but they were 3X the price.
