Woke up late, and hit a detour that cost me 15 minutes. Didn't get to the gate until sunrise. Get out to get dressed and realize I forgot my boots. So right now I'm sitting in a climber in slippers with a jacket wrapped around them. In Macon county on some fresh scrapes in select cut pines. We will see how long my toes can handle it.

Klow53, where do you hunt around Enterprise? Just wondering what your seeing, after the rains we haven't seen any new sign, ie scraps or rubs.

Sitting on a pipeline in Dallas county, I've got head high CRP and 5 year old pines in front of me. Looks like they were chasing last night the roads torn up with running tracks, hopefully they are still around. Nothing moving here yet.

Re: LFTT 1-28-15 - 01/28/15 12:40 PM

Needed to redeem myself after not finding any thing on the one I shot at Monday afternoon. I went back yesterday morning and found no evidence of a hit.
I shot a cow horn in the back yard this morning around 8.
Needed one more for the freezer.

Woohoo,

Nothing like a dirt nap!!

Congrats splitbrows25!!!!

A short hunt here, but saw a broken horned 6 and spike.
No dirt naps here, but looking for nanner meat.

God Bless,

Last hunt of the season for me. Got settled at 11:45 and had a cowhorn spike come by at 11:55 and then a young 7 point at 12:10. Hope this keeps up and a shooter shows up.

I'm set up on a GIANT wheat field, it's got radishes, turnips, brassicas and rye all around the edge. Got a spike and two does out now, maybe some bucks will be in their feet. Beautiful afternoon out here!

This is my setup, in tree about 245. Got off work early. Nothing so far. I actually took these pics last time I hunted here.

Sitting in hardwood bottom about 400 yards from loggers. Hopefully they will funnel the deer right around them straight to me.

Re: LFTT 1-28-15 - 01/28/15 05:59 PM

I'm settled in for another short hunt at my buddy's green field. The wind isn't just perfect for this stand, but I'm pulling a "hail mary" anyways. I'm hoping a decent buck (or a doe at this point) will come out here before dark. I need some meat for the freezer.

Good luck, everybody!

hey arKic. You been seeing the same as us where you hunt. Seems since the rains came through all the fresh sign is gone, and I haven't seen anything move...just wondering?
