Just got busted! About to take a doe, since that's all I've seen lately, and 100 yds behind her, all I see is a white flag. Is my day over? Should i leave and come back this evening? I'm so mad I'm shaking!

No, it is early, stick it out. I've had nice bucks that were spooked off and came back 2 hours later.

Good luck guys. I have been busted several times and just chilled out, depending where you are chances are still good to seem more.

I'm trying a new spot this morning. Can't see over 40 yards, wish I had brought my bow. I put my camera out here Friday and there weren't any scrapes. Walking in this morning there were fresh ones about every 10 to 15 feet.

I'm up in a tree about 400 yds from my dad. I'm hoping he can bust a big one this morning. Going to sit till about 1200 and see if there is any midday movement.

When the rut is going on, having a deer bust you and blow isn't a bad thing. I've heard many a doe blow when a love-sick buck was getting close to her. At this time of year, when I hear a deer snorting, I pull out my grunt call.

It's been quiet this morning. Going to give it about 30 more minutes then head to the gym .....save the all day sits for the elusive extreme lower Alabama rut. wink

He came back and made a scrape 45 minutes after he busted me. Little guy. Not what I was looking for, but now I know I didn't run off a monster!

Sitting in the hard woods the afternoon ahead of a little cold front. Same conditions as when I killed my buck last week except a lot less wind. Hopefully I'll have similar results.

My oldest daughter killed her first buck this afternoon. 8 pt and 169 lbs. She has been tough on the does, but buck fever got the best of her on 3 previous encounters. Squeals could be heard throughout North Baldwin County.

I think I get more enjoyment by seeing kids first kills, than just about anything! Makes my heart smile. Congrats to the young lady. And I know you were just as excited as she was.
