What caliber?

Just curious as to what caliber rifle you've killed the most deer with. I've killed deer with quite a few different calibers but I've killed the most with a 300 win mag and the 243 is a close second.

I've been using a .300 win mag for the last 15 years. It's the only rifle i use. Fits like a glove and i know what it will do at long ranges shooting Hornady 165 gr. super performance SST ammo. Deadly combination. It's amazing at how many people don't know what their rifle will do at 300 yards.

Right at 150 deer. I've killed one with a 30-30 (my 1st deer) and 3 others with a shotgun using buckshot. The rest with a Winchester Model 70 .270.

All rifle kills with a Rem .270, the rest with a 12 gauge.

All rifle kills with a .270....so I've decided to swap to .308 and/or .270wsm

300 Win Mag easily. Doubt anything will ever catch up with it, even though I haven't taken it out of the safe in 6 or 7 years. I just don't hate 'em near as much as I used to.

.243, no doubt about it. Also killed a few with .270, 30-06, and .308, but I could probably retire the .243 today and the other calibers would never catch up.

I've killed almost all my deer with a model 700 .270. But this year I'm going try out a 30-06 A Bolt.

okay yall please don't give me a lot of grief...but when I was younger and couldn't afford a big rifle ....I killed enough deer with a 22 that my large calibers that I have today will not ever catch up.But now that I have grown up the calibers are in descending order...243,30/06,270..I dropped from 30/06 because it done to much damage to the meat, but I dropped from the 270 for the upcoming season to a 25/06

Most deer is my .270...all my biggest were killed with a 7mm08.

30:06 1st, 308 2nd, 12 ga 3rd. I reload my own bullets for the 30:06.

Maybe 60 with a 7mm-08

20 with a .243

20 with a 6mm

I wish I had kept up with the numbers...

7mm-08 the most , 7mm-rem mag 2nd , 300 wsm is starting to be my favorite

It is a three way tie for me. I have taken the same amount with a 30-30,270,and 30-06.

742.30-06 I have no idea how many but that old gun has put alot of meat in my freezer.I have three 30-06 rifles.Second to that is my 7600.243.I purchased a 25-06 this year that I'm looking forward to hunting with.

.243 neck shots. drop them and there is not any tracking. just pick 'em up and leave. head for skinning rack.

308 but I do like my 300 weatherby If i can see him I can shoot him or her.

I've never shot a deer with a rifle other than a 30.06 that I can recall. I don't suspect that will change.

Last year being my first year I've only killed 3 deer. The first I killed with a 30-06 at 80-90 yards ... BOOM/FLOP ... didn't even twitch.

Two others I killed with a 243. One dropped in its place (40 yard shot) and took about 5 minutes to die. The other (30 yard shot) ran a good 50-60 yards before dying.


All 3 were heart shots

Hence my desire to sell my Tikka T2 Lite 243 and get a 308 in the same model

Next would be a .280 Ackley Improved
