Rut in south Bibb county December or January

Guys need some info you can provide when the rut starts to kick in southern Bibb county north of Maplesville. I have heard middle of December and also January. Any help is appreciated.

should be christmas maybe a few days earlier till mid january.

Anywhere from Dec 20th to Jan 1st

Dec 25-jan 10, however sections of bibb will be wide open just after thanksgiving and done by christmas

When I hunted Bibb County (hwy 5 close to vocational school) we saw chasing from December 10th-31st.

Why so different do you think? I have hunted central Alabama and usually the second week of January it gets going in Elmore and Montgomery counties. I hunted this place 3 years and have never seen any chasing activity in January.Heck it is nearly dead in January there. Now I know why! I know different parts of the state rut at different times, some would say all year long. But are there any other areas that rut mostly in December or is it just in this county? Please understand I am from Georgia and the rut is pretty consistant so this is all new to me, and to be honest a little confusing.

I hunt 5 miles from bibb and our rut dec 26th-jan 10th, 15 miles farther south and it is end of jan and 10 miles north of us rut is done by christmas. It is very weird. If your place is dead by jan 1 you should have some form of second chase phase and rut around the end of january

Ben that is weird, I may need an abacus to determine when the rut may start LOL! All I know is it is frustrating when you ask people a mile down the road and they say later Dec. early January. I just always assumed the Alabama rut is in January and never put alot of effort into December. Again all the info is appreciatd and I will experiment this year in the 12th. month. I really just wish I knew why so different? They need to list this county as the most challenging county/area to hunt.The rut I meant.

I've always been told and everyone always thinks late January rut in Alabama. Where I hunt in lee county it does seem to be the end of January. But on my family farm near centreville, al it's almost done by New Years. The places I hunt in Dekalb and Cherokee counties are done by Christmas.

If you drew a line from Eoline to Westblocton the bucks typically rut around Dec 10th to 20th. A friend killed a good buck in that area wide open on a doe the first day of gun season. I have heard they stocked that area in the 40's with Michigan deer. South of Centreville it's typically from last week of dec to first week of January. Most years south of Centreville the rut never really happens except for some fool spike chasing.

I hunt 2 different ruts. On my farm in Jacksonville, its late November-middle of Dec. On my club in Lincoln, its Middle Dec.-thru Jan. A buddy of mine, hunts near maplesville and the rut was over by Jan 1st. He said he thought the peak was Dec. 19th

I'm at the southern point of Shelby County between Coosa and Chilton County, ours seems to be the last two weeks of December and maybe a few days into January.
