Saw a really nice buck this am in reform going to work, he had dropped one side already. I got a good look at him.

He came down with strep Friday, so we took the weekend off from Hunting to sleep and recover.

I think I needed it as much as he did even with him being sick.

Going this afternoon. Gonna see if Mrs. Bamaeyedoc wants to go. She hasn’t been all year. Wind ain’t perfect but maybe gusting enough for us that we will see something interesting despite that.

We only had 1 shooter on camera this summer and he evidently got dead early or preseason by a neighbor or road hunter so we have literally had 0 bucks to hunt this time. It's years like this when you really realize how long deer season is. It's amazing any deer make it through the season. Luckily 3 of our 7 or 8 up and comers are still alive at this point but it's gonna be a slow year next yr as well.

We have 3 2yr old 8s and a 2yr old 6 still alive and some spikes. I guess we are going to just start shooting 3 yr olds cause there aren’t any making it to 4 anymore.

Back on 30 acre clearcut in Kansas style wind.

I reckon thisun knows we go to church. He was there 6:10 last sunday morning, Joseph slept in. He went this morning till time to get ready for church. We were at Top of the river when he was out today. Maybe this evening

I think they know too jw, I had one a couple years ago that I got daylight pictures 3 sundays in a row around 11 am, I ended up killing him chasing a doe a few weeks later

Mrs Bamaeyedoc wasn’t up to it today so I’m here on a hayfield that usually has a bunch of does. Maybe one will drag a buck by. Saw several in pastures driving down and already seen 1 doe at 3pm so that’s encouraging. On doozy of a fresh rub on the woodline. Hope whatever made it steps out.

Sitting in a field we call the turkey foot and living up to its name I’ve got 17 out in the field. No deer.

Just head shot a beaver with a 45-70. All I’ve seen so far. lol.

No sign of him again. He keeps coming out around 1pm out of all times so it looks like l might be skipping school this week for the woods.

Well. Got a dog on the way. Ain’t killed a deer in many years. But took my son and a dandy stepped out at 300. He told me to try him. I know I hit him. It’s knee deep water. I didn’t even look. Walked down there but backed out.

It was on purpose. Possibly my last hunt and no deer meat in the freezer.

Saw one spike and had one snort back over right shoulder. Had 2 collarless dogs appear and thats all i will say about that

Well today was my first hunt in over 3 weeks due to a stoopid old person fall which resulted in 2.5 weeks using a walker. No bucks down but what a day. Saw over 25 doe, four spikes and a 2.5 yr old 6 point. First time I ever cracked 30 deer on one sit.

Merica got dammit! Let's eat!

Wife killed her biggest this afternoon. We got to the blind and 5 minutes later a 11 point came out and she dropped it.

A good dog is hard to beat. Found it about 300 yards. Nice 10 point for the area. I really can’t believe the bullet didn’t do more. But oh well.
I could not of drawed it up and put a point on the deer where I wanted the bullet to hit. Heart was all bruised up but still intact. I would think I would have found it in the morning dead but had to finish it off tonight.
Awesome to watch the handler and dog work. He said this deers hurt the first 100 yards. And said there was a good chance and sure enough, the dog got em. In knee deep water the entire time.
