Back to work for me but I had a pretty good deer on camera at 6:50 this am, just cruising.

At work - need boat to get to mine. Only hav one shooter per lease on camera and one has not showed up in several weeks and the other n about 10 days
May not b my year 😀

Camera started blowing up about 9:30am and been consistent with pics since

Watched a doe with twins around 10. Fixing to head back out for the evening

Got a decent 8 on camera right now

I’m testing the Matt Brock “High Wind Theory” this afternoon.
Wind is out of the West at 18, gusts up to 38. 🙈😁

We’ll see what happens…

Walked in on decent 8 who couldn't quite figure out what I was and just eased off. Got in the shooting house and ten minutes later eleven pigs came in. Only ten left.

Buddy of mine slipped up to a GF and almost sealed the deal with his best buck a few min ago . What I’ve seen they’ve moved all day regardless of this wind.
Not what I was expecting but pics don’t lie.

I had a couple of does come in right at dark. I figure the bucks are gona handle their business, regardless of wind

They moved at my favorite stand this afternoon. Of course I wasn't there.

The last few days I went hunting in high winds were very good days. I haven’t been since Saturday.

I hunted last Friday when those storms/rain were moving in and they wind was blowing pretty good. Didn’t see much til about 30-45mins before dark but ended up seeing 4 racked bucks, one being a mature buck.

Serious Question-I must have missed this. What is the "High Wind Theory"?

I killed a very nice old buck in those winds last Friday right ahead of the rain.

I disagree strongly with the idea that high winds shut down deer movement. I’ve seen the direct opposite, and have killed a high percentage of my better bucks in winds greater than 15 mph. Most ppl don’t hunt in those conditions but they’ve been very productive for me.

^^^ yep. We the people don't like the cold and wind. It don't bother the deer.

My target buck finally made a mistake in the daylight for me this afternoon!! I heart shot him at 80 yards at 5:05!!!

I’ve hunted my butt off this season for this one particular buck and it sure feels good to have him on the ground!!! I’ll post a lengthy story about it all tomorrow.

Pig I shot this afternoon was a 175# sow. Guy I gave it to said she eight gestating. Wound up taking out nine with one shot !!!

Maybe these older bucks have learned that the average hunter stays home when the wind is howling
