break down our total daily movement rates into
daytime and nighttime periods, we see results by
moon phase that are quite conclusive—just not
in the way we may have expected (Figure 5). Total
distance traveled throughout the daytime and
nighttime hours varies from day to day, with greater total movement during the night than during
the day. However, there is absolutely no pattern of
variation that can be associated with moon phase.
