Weyerhaeuser lease about made me sick. Absolutely no justifiable reason to increase the prices like they have the last few years. It’s terrible

They haven’t gone up on you the last few years? Over $4/acre increase the last 6 years.

Matt, just be glad your not leasing from Rayonier. Weyerhauser had gone up on all our stuff too, but I know what my neighbors pay for their Rayonier stuff and Weyerhauser is still not up to half of what our neighbors next door are paying Rayonier for far inferior property.

Pretty much what I was told too years ago.

Pretty much like that everywhere.

My best friend use to work for RMS until he passed away. He was over the FL division and some of Alabama. He had a waiting list of folks that was never ending. A lot of their property never sees the internet these days. Within a phone call or two it's spoken for. I have had the opportunity to lease a couple of tracts from them, but as noted it was overpriced for what it consisted of. I don't know how folks can justify paying what some of these leases go for here. Unfortunately, this is the direction most of these companies are headed.

Heck they’ve gone up over a dollar an acre this year alone. They claim they’re “catching up to average private lease prices”. I don’t know any private landowner charging what they’re charging us. They’re bringing the prices up for private landowners instead of trying to match their prices. It’s gotten ridiculous.

It’s definitely costly and getting worse all the time. How much per acre are you paying now? I’m paying about $11 but even with the price increase over the years I still pay less than I did the very first year I picked up the lease due to paying early by etf I get a discount.

We got ours a few weeks ago. Went up $1/acre on us.

Re: RMS - 05/20/23 01:38 AM

Westervelt has went up 3% every year since I’ve had the lease. Almost $13 an acre now and inching ever so close to pricing us out. It’s a shame they don’t care about having people on the property that actually take care of their property and do the right things. All they care about is money.

Received it today up 1.35$

Re: RMS - 05/20/23 06:33 PM

What determines what you pay county location?
Because some years our lease may go up a dollar and a half a acre some years it may not go up anything. Cuz I see where guys have posted and I see other or leaseing for same company and in some cases it's a lot less than what we pay. And in some cases it's more than we are paying.

I work for paper company that does in house leasing . Your lease will go up as must as the market can stand . NEVER get cheaper . They could care less about hunters you are a liability an only thing they want is your money. If you improve property it just make it worth more to the next guy in line when you leave . I hear horror stories all the time from them about hunters bitchen to them bout price increase, bad roads, next door neighbors an poachers . Bottom line most DONOT care bout your problems. Pay the money or leave .you are blessed if you own land to hunt on or good landowners to lease from . Hunting is getting more an more commercialize than ever nowadays.
