I thought only residents could purchase Idaho returns? Maybe I’m wrong

Did Idaho have the same winter kill issues that Wyoming did?

I read an article that said southeast and snake river regions just shut down antlerless seasons for the upcoming year for mule deer at least. They said some spots showed 8 out of 10 collared yearlings were showing dead in the worst areas of snowpack

Exceptionally bad winter kills this year in the SE portion of Idaho, I think. The hardest hit species were the antelope and mule deer. I read several articles stating tags were reduced up to 75% in specific units and fully revoked in other units.

The only thing I've seen was the following
"Here in the Southeast Region, Idaho Fish and Game continues to distribute 30 tons of deer feed per week across 23 feed sites in the areas hit hardest by the year's winter. We are also feeding 1 to 2 tons of hay each day at each of the elk feed sites."
and that they had cut doe tags in a few units. Either way, it's almost an annual thing in the NW States.

I jumped into the waiting room to see how what number I'd be, 3,915. Be cool if the total number would show.
The 150 or so WT tags were gone in a matter of minutes. The descent elk tags gone in 10 min.
Still lots of regular deer tags at the 16min mark but going quick lol.

Opened the app and it put me at number 5595 so, a tad over 6,000 people are gunning for the leftover tags.

Idaho has a lot of returned tags from the Dec01 sale. I traded my whitetail tag for a general deer tag. I'll have about a week now that a nice muley better not slip up and show himself while I'm there.
If I don't see what I'm looking for I may pop a smaller deer at the end and take to the food bank if they accept them.
