Serious deer talk photo

This picture is from a friends place is west central AL. Just thought it was worth sharing. Pretty neat to see two bucks that size together and one in the act of shedding velvet.

several of mine have shed in last two days, others not so much.

Yep I think about 2/3 of the bucks I’ve got on camera shed in the last 72 hours.

At my place the larger bucks shed first. That red looks painful.

It's time.

These two were part of a group of 4 still running together in west central Alabama on the 16th as well.




Back in August 2 of the 4

They’ll be running together for another two months. That’s not uncommon until late November.

I’m digging that heavily thinned pine stand as well.

Yes - because it appears to be properly managed with fire.
Instead of a pine needle and sweet gum desert it looks like it has a lot of green undergrowth.
That is the way a properly managed pine plantation should look.
