SUCK!!!! I have 4 of them and not a 1 will work for more than a week. Way too much $ for such a horrible product! The cheapo wildgame is a much better camera for 1/3 the price

Are you referring to the cellular cameras

Re: Browning Trail Cameras.... - 11/29/20 10:55 PM

Most of the Browning cameras made after 2016 are hit and miss on their reliability

No problems with mine

That's the first time I've ever heard anything good said about a WGI camera.

My 4 Dark Ops cams have been flawless. Best I’ve used actually.

Re: Browning Trail Cameras.... - 11/29/20 11:59 PM

They have become my go to, I've had great luck with 20+, the one I had a small issue with they replaced without hesitation

I've only bought one in my life which was a Browning Dark Ops two years ago. It quit taking night photos, and also quit taking pics period. The battery contacts seem to come and go.

I've had better luck with Browning than anything else

Re: Browning Trail Cameras.... - 11/30/20 01:24 AM

My Brownings are kinda like my Moutries through the years. Work great initially but then they start having issues. I believe most of the cameras out there are basically disposable. Get a year or 3 out of em before they die.

Re: Browning Trail Cameras.... - 11/30/20 01:38 AM

I wish I bought bourbon with the money and time wasted on them! The dark ops replaced the one before it because it would never boot up, company replaced it with dark ops. It has not worked for more than 1 day at any time. I know for a fact they had some problems because i know a rep from there. If yall say they are good, i will let yall buy my next lottery ticket because I obviously can’t pick a good one out of the pile! Yall sound like the kinda fellas set a man up on a blind date with a fat girl with a “good personality”. Lol.

I had an issue with that particular model as well. Zero issues with the Strike Force though.

Re: Browning Trail Cameras.... - 11/30/20 02:45 AM

Strike Force... have over a dozen of them from different years and negligible issues over the past eight years.

I’m currently using 5 strike forces with 0 issues with some that are 5 years old. 2015 models. Some are 16-17 models

Browning cameras are over priced and made in China like the rest. If you get 3 years out of any camera you have done well.

Re: Browning Trail Cameras.... - 11/30/20 01:10 PM

I have 3 Strike force that are on year 4. I leave em out most of the year. No problems so far. I have some cheaper model Browning and it’s on year 3 and no problems.

Re: Browning Trail Cameras.... - 11/30/20 01:10 PM

I used to love them. But, the ones I had never lasted more than 2 years. Plus, I’ve gone to all cell cameras now.

Re: Browning Trail Cameras.... - 11/30/20 06:28 PM

Battery trays recently failed in two of my strike force cameras after less than a year of use (and two battery changes). Prometheus group won't comp them either...had to pay $30 for two trays plus shipping so my $100 camera would work again.

Other than that, they work great though.

Re: Browning Trail Cameras.... - 11/30/20 07:14 PM

I leave my cameras running all year and I have 3 moultrie 7000i and 5 Browning dark ops and have never had a single issue. Oh yeah I also have a moultrie A5 that takes the C batteries and I call it my big buck cam because that thing is around 10 years old and works flawlessly

Re: Browning Trail Cameras.... - 11/30/20 07:56 PM

Have many Brownings and they are always hit or miss on actually snapping a picture on something close to them.
The pics are typically grainy too.

As someone said up thread I have come to see game cameras as disposable items.

Re: Browning Trail Cameras.... - 12/01/20 02:08 AM

My battery trays had the springs break out of them...multiple springs per tray. I'm sure I could have found the right person to solder them back on, but I don't have time for that at the moment. I'm usually down for a good DIY project, but for a +$100 camera I need to be able to "set it and forget it".

Plus, we're talking about parts that actually "move" three times a year...

But again, takes great pictures and has pretty good trigger speed for the price.

I have 20+ of the Pro HD models and have nothing but good things to say about them. Knock on wood that I haven’t had one problem. Yet...

I had a battery tray issue on one of my Brownings. I didn't even look into fixing it. Pulled the strap and tossed the cam in the trash. I find it amazing what folks expect to get for a $100 camera. Think about it, $100 cam cost the retailer $50 who bought it from a distributor that paid $25 who bought it from a manufacturer that sold it for $12.50 after making it for $6.25. What do we really expect from a cam that cost $6.25 to make?

Guess I'm just lucky x 6. Been running 6 Browning Strike Force for 6 years and all of em still work great. Haven't had to buy a camera to replace one since I switched to Browning.

I've had multiple Browning cameras over the past 5 years. The battery trays have failed on them almost across the board. This includes higher end Browning models and cheaper versions. There has to be a defect that I am sure Browning is aware of and hasn't fixed. Gone wireless but I wouldn't buy another Browning camera regardless.

To me absolute worse camera I’ve ever owned . I wpudl take a cheap moultrie any day over a Browning camera. I bought 3 on Black Friday several years ago . Had issues with all but one the first season next season all three were garbage

I don't understand the dogging of the Browning Strike Force Cams. Everyone in our camp has them and they all love them. I've had 3 for 5 years with only minor problems. Great pics and battery life.

I have at least six that are 6-7 years old and only have had issues with one of them. However, the issue came after thousands of pictures...

Re: Browning Trail Cameras.... - 12/02/20 09:42 PM

I am a Moultrie guy. I have had over to 50 over the past 15 years mainly due to their customer service. I still have two running from 2008 and a couple from 2011. (I know someone will chime in here saying their CS is horrible but I have had nothing but good experiences). I randomly buy a new brand every year or so just to see what is out there. I purchased one strike force and loved it so I bought another. The new one failed within a month and Browning replaced it immediately (I received my new camera the next day). Battery life is something magical. I have had two of these out this year since mid October. As of last week, one is 99% and the other is still at 100%. I don't know how they do that with two less batteries than every other camera. I have been happy with Browning and would definitely buy again.

All I know is don’t get a cellular one because they will make you sick

Re: Browning Trail Cameras.... - 12/02/20 11:34 PM

I bought 2 browning strike force cams over the summer and they suck. One never did take a night pic and the other one did for a month or so. I went to check it the other day and now it doesn’t take night pics either. I contacted browning they basically tried to blame the batteries. Said that Duracell changed their technology and it was messing up their cams. I asked for a link to confirm that information. Couldn’t give it to me. They suck and I’ll never buy another one.

Re: Browning Trail Cameras.... - 12/03/20 12:29 AM

Just found my box. I’m using Strike Force Extreme sub micro series and Model # BTC-5HDX-BP. Made in China. I have 2 of them and this is my second year using them and the battery life is excellent but my settings take 3 burst pictures every 30 seconds. I have noticed when a deer is running by at night about 30 feet out those pictures are somewhat blurry. I am pleased with this camera model.
