Zone E opening this Thursday

Who all's going? I'll be at Choccolocco WMA.... went yesterday and found enough sign to at least make me feel confident.

Where's Choccolocco? I thought Zone D (Bankhead area) was opening 1 October, I didn't even know that South Alabama had a zone opening that early. I'm going Thursday afternoon, all day Friday.

Zone E appears to be half of Calhoun and all of Cleburne counties in NE Alabama, and then a little section on the Georgia line around Russell county in SE. Alabama.

Choccolocco WMA is in Calhoun & Cleburne (north of I-20 not far off the Georgia line).

I’ll be going. My lease is just south of 78 in Cleburne County.

Zone D as well.

I’ll be in the woods Friday and Saturday at our farm...I’ll have my 3.5 year old son with me, so we may be doing a lot of fishing, truck riding, etc. if he doesn’t want to hunt. But, I’ll get some hunts in for sure. Can’t wait!!!

Archery deer has always started on Oct 15 statewide in ‘Bama.

Get ready, AC. We'll have more zones and opening days-seasons before long and will be like Arkansas or Louisiana.

"Deer season" is gone as we knew it.
