Sounds like duck hunters started a bit early on their final day. Turkeys are gobbling. No deer yet. Getting cloudy. Wish it was a bit cooler.

The deluge has commenced in LA. In a shooting house. Almost hit a spike this morning. Rut is wide open here.

I’ve heard a gobble or two as well. Trying to squeeze in a hunt before the rain sets in.

I’m going this afternoon to give it a whirl..

Got the tree umbrella out watching a road in some thick pines. Maybe ole slough foot will step out. Good luck fellas

Watched a knot head for a bit.
I used the doe bleat. Ol knothead barely looked up. But every time I bleated, an unseen in the bushes would grunt. I quit after couple series hoping he’d come looking but he hadn’t yet.

Indeed. Few does and small buck. Couple coons big as my dang dogs. Believe if I had a mouth call and my 870 I could be wearing one of these gobblers in short order.

Saw 6 deer on my way duck hunting. 3 does and 3 racked bucks. No deer while going in and out duck hunting but did have a great duck season farewell hunt.

I’m late to work but I’ll post pic in a bit. My bro came and loaded for me. I been counting on him.

Got in the stand around 2. Sitting in a macon county swamp bottom. Just had a spike and a beautiful 3.5 year old 8 point come by chasing a doe.

Just saw a nice one chase a doe across the road in front of me. They on their feet with this front moving in.

Behind the house and my buddy is back across the road looking for redemption. Wind is better for that stand. Don't think the deer are feeding much in this field because there is still rice bran left after 2 days

I can’t recall the last daylight pic of a deer at the farm. But I haven’t hunted in 3 weeks now so.....

Turns out I have this deer on camera. Anyone want to guess his age? Biologist is going to see him tomorrow and he should know the age.
