Lots of bucks showing up on camera at my spot North of Opp. Several decent ones during the day. I would imagine early next week will be fantastic hunting.

My land near Gantt had small bucks chasing last week. I haven't seen anything big yet.

They have been rutting In Conecuh since November. There are about five subspecies here and the reason why we went till Feb 10th then statewide.
Constant rut till mid February
Generally, it seems like MLK weekend starts the peak of dumb rut buck mistakes.

Saw two bucks with does on the way to work in Andalusia this morning. A big 8 and a pretty nice 6......need to be hunting in Covington County right now.

I'm just South of Repton and have seen very little rutting activity. Couple guys killed small bucks over the weekend but they weren't really chasing. Today is the first day I haven't hunted since Saturday and I've only seen 1 buck chasing. Very little deer sightings and even my cameras that are on food plots that were loaded with deer last month have very little activity. It's been very strange.

I hunt just off Co HWY 11 south of Repton. The past few years it’s been hit or miss for us as far as being there at the right time. Last year we hunted MLK week and felt like we were a little early. The first week of February has been pretty good for us over the years as long as we had good weather. We’re heading down the 31st for a week, hopefully they will be on by then.

We’ve killed 6 bucks since Sunday. All mature for the most part. They’re on their feet

Our bucks were on their feet and cruising hard. Does still didn’t seem to be ready, if a buck came to a field the does took off immediately.

Nope. Neighbors shot this buck. You never saw a deer bleed at the mouth after being shot?

Looks like half his nose is missing. Doesn't look shot there but something definitely happened to him.

Re: Covington/Conecuh County Rut? - 02/03/20 01:00 AM
looked around 8 or so scrapes this morning only 2 had fresh activity. Some folks I talked with last week said it was over around the 25th or so. the biggest buck on my corn pile cam is coming around much more regular than he has in the last 3-4 weeks or so. Actually staying around eating for a while, staying much longer than he has all year. watched a 4 pt last week in a field with 15 does or so he was only worried about eating. this is around yellow river hwy 55 area.

I hunt in north coffee county and we haven't saw any decent bucks chasing. All the bucks we've killed have been cruising around no doe in sight. It seems every year there's less and less rut activity.
