Grunt call - 01/13/20 03:27 PM

Which one are y’all using? Seems like there’s 100 different ones to choose from. Bought one last week, sounds like crap. Gotta disassemble it in to 3 pieces to change tones. I just want a simple good sounding call. Suggestions?

Old Crow calls, but they are expensive. You can find them on facebook..

I'm going to try the Extinguisher deer call, which goes for about $20 on Amazon. Has a slide to change between fawn, doe, and buck sounds. A guest on the Southern Outdoorsmen podcast recommended it.

Another vote for Old Crow. Joe, Mike’s gun shop in Pensacola carries them

David Leonard out of Phenix city makes some really nice custom wood grunt calls and Turkey calls. I've bought around 5 or 6 off him. Couple for me and the Mrs,and some for gifts. Prob grunted up 20 different bucks over the past season and half since I started using it. They look good and sound awesome.

My bro in law used a wood haven last week and brought a mature buck out of the thick stuff. He left a hot doe and walked straight out in open looking for a fight. Shot him at 45 yds in video.

The best ones I've personally heard were from Lyle at Houndstooth Game Calls and , believe it or not, ol DTeague made a video demo of one he made and it sounded as realistic as any I've ever heard.

I've grunted in more bucks than I can count on 2 hands with mine. It is the only call I've ever heard that actually sounds like a real deer.
