Sawtooth oaks

Sawtooth oaks - 09/15/19 06:00 PM

I planted several patches of sawtooth and gobbler sawtooth oaks in 2000. I wish I would have planted a mix of varieties, but I’m glad I planted the early dropping sawtooth. Each year I get pics of every velvet buck in the neighborhood. It really helps me to take inventory of what’s around and we usually kill 2-3 off of them every year during early season. They definitely have their place in deer management. My next adventure is gonna be a couple of pecan groves (for the humans). Lol

Pecans are easy quick growers. May want to try a few chestnuts.
